This is what I saw, so I'm just curious where these changes in the pre-season rankings are coming from after the "Spring"?

Oregon, Oklahoma and Penn State are all breaking in new QBs so I might move them down some as well as us. Michigan and Utah both are near the bottom in returning production

If somehow all four teams are unbeaten going into October 10th, you're likely looking at two SEC vs. SEC matchups on the same day, featuring Top 8 teams

Which game gets GameDay?

My guess is they'd go to Gainesville. Gameday made it to both Athens and Gainesville last year, so its not like they've been needing to get back to either one. But its almost definite that Gameday will be in Tuscaloosa Week 3 for Georgia at Alabama, so since they'll have already done a UGA game my guess is they'd go to LSU at UF

***Don't be shocked if Gameday pulls the PC card though and says for the good of humanity they are not going to go on the road this year. This is ESPN we're talking about.

Would upvote, but "a1m" is cringe-worthy. Please don't do that.

I absolutely agree that's how it plays out. End the regular season 10-2 and try and get a bowl win. Would be our second best season in 23 years.

Surprised UT isn’t competing for the offseason championship with that kind of preseason ranking.

Even Vol fans know this will likely be another long season.

When your schedule includes the following games...

at #8 Oklahoma
#9 Florida
#3 Alabama
at #4 Georgia

... plus Kentucky, South Carolina, Mizzou, etc., the best possible record is going to be around 8-4. They are a year or two away from truly being competitive with the likes of those other four teams listed above.

Depends on where they’ve already been at that point in the season

State should be better than last year, but still in the 6-6 to 8-4 range.

I've got them winning four of the first five, taking a beating in October, and then toss-ups in Lexington and Oxford at the end of the year will determine if this is a 6 win team or an 8 win team. NC State on the road in Week 2 is a worry, and a big swing game early in the year.

I think most State fans will be fine with Leach in Year 1 if they just keep the bowl streak alive. 5-7 would be disappointing because it would either mean they went 0-3 against NC State, Kentucky, and Ole Miss, or lost to Arkansas, Missouri, or Tulane at home. But anything 6-6 or better should go over fine for this year. I think many were expecting a 3-9 or 4-8 type year had Moorhead been kept another year.

Don't see a problem with it. It's just a crap shoot at this time anyways.

Kentucky should be higher given what returns but I'm guessing their logic on ranking teams like UofL or Virginia Tech over them in the pre-season is their shitty ACC schedules. It certainly isn't coaching or performance of guys returning from last season.

Maybe they are projecting that UofL will beat UK this year?

If A&M somehow escapes Jordan-Hare with a win, don't be surprised to see the Aggies ranked as high as #1 or #2.

Not unless Clemson, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma and Ohio State all have at least one loss.

These are recruiting rankings? How'd our class drop 4 points losing one guy and not even having spring practice?

Or did you accidentally type recruiting rankings?

If so..Georgia going up 3 with all their questions and no way to install their offense makes absolutely no sense.
