I'm going with Kane Wommack.
He did improve Indianas' defense a bit but nothing to do with the 2025-2026 Indiana. He left in 2020.

Last season among SEC teams Alabama’s defense ranked 3rd in fewest yards allowed per game and 4th in fewest points allowed per game.
If Wommack is the worst hire ever, what does that make the other 12 coordinators who were worse than him?

Genuine question. Would you Gumps rather have Womack or Whiskey Pete?

Look at the topics created by the OP. He's not a Bama fan.

Are we talking all-time? If so, I’ll nominate Sal Sunseri. If Tennessee just had an average defense in 2012, they would have won 9 games.

To answer your question I nominate three guys.
Kevin Ramsey (Georgia, 1999): Hired away from the Tennessee staff, Ramsey took over a Georgia defense featuring future NFL stars like Richard Seymour, Marcus Stroud, and Boss Bailey. Despite the talent, the 1999 unit ranked absolutely last in the SEC in total defense (382.6 yards per game) and pass defense (278.1 yards per game). The collapse is widely considered one of the most baffling and worst in the conference's modern era.
Bo Pelini (LSU, 2020): While Pelini is historically an elite defensive mind, his second stint at LSU resulted in statistically one of the worst defenses in school history. In a shortened 10-game conference-only season, the Tigers gave up 34.9 points and over 492 yards of total offense per game, repeatedly getting shredded by mediocre offenses.
Matt House (LSU, 2023): In 2023 despite returning high-profile talent, the defense suffered a massive statistical collapse, frequently ranking at or near the bottom of the SEC in almost every metric.Total Defense: Allowed 416.6 yards per game, which ranked 13th in the SEC (near 105th nationally). Scoring Defense: Allowed 28.0 points per game, placing them 13th in the SEC. Rushing Defense: Allowed ˜ 171.1 yards per game, sitting near the bottom of the conference rankings.

Is Bamas version of Lane Kiffin when it comes to Analytics. Might win more games but will never sniff a title. Guess I'll kick the bucket before Bama ever reaches a title game on the court lol. September can't arrive soon enough for me. If I make it till then. Peace out.

Opinion of how well a Coach DaBoer team shows up well ready to play. Prove me wrong.

Matt House 100% one of the worst moves ever.

Bo Pelini (LSU, 2020):
This should be qualified. Ed did not even interview Bo. Ed wanted to use the attacking 4-man front. Bo explained to him that we didn't have the players to do that. Ed says, do it anyway. And now Bo is on your list.

Bo is on his list because it is associated with LSU.
Are you not aware of his obsession with all things LSU?

Bo is on my list because his defense allowed 492 yards and 35 points per game on average.
Do you even realize how bad that is? You don’t seem to.
