Sounds to me like Doc is trying to provide a counterweight to the rosy-picture BS that has left us so unprepared in the first place. He's going to continue to give worst case scenario warnings because people need to hear them, but we'll end up stopping well short.

I think we have a season with (by that time) adequate testing of teams and personnel but zero fans in the stands. Hopefully we can live with that. (Pun intended)

You can't have a season with no fans

You already exposed yourself for being a complete moron, TT9. Everyone here knows that you are an idiot and a welcher now, even if they didn't realize it before.

Your math predicted 60k dead this month despite great intervention? Yea, show me that.

The decisions being made were done so on the claims of a 2-5% mortality rate.

I demonstrated repeatedly that the actual mortality rate was closer to 0.25%, and that the numbers were skewed because they weren't adding in all the cases where people did not get tested.

I also said then that I would be proven right once they started doing antibody testing.

And that's exactly what happened.

You were the one making big panic claims of half a million people.

Of course you can. Don't say something that asinine then pretend it's self-evident.

. . . unless that was sarcasm, in which case: lol.

Yet somehow 60k died in one month, despite massive interventions, which is far beyond what you ever imagined using your 0.25 and antibody testing claims.

Derp. Ticket sales are like 20% of revenue and don't you think other sources of revenue are gonna suffer when that does?

Tv contracts alone can pay the bill for a season, and so can rainy day savings.

Pay the bill isn't the same as turning a profit. Maybe they could do a semi PPV package though

AD’s don’t have to turn a profit to have a season. Tv contracts are sufficient. Now imagine no tv contract. That’s why the season needs to be played no matter where the fans are.

True for 7-8 SEC ADs, OSU, Michigan, Texas, Clemson, FSU, Nebraska, etc. but not many more I'd reckon. If this hastens the formation of a super conference of the biggest AD's I'd be all for it though. Could divide it into four divisions

So Some schools may have to cut their sports down or use a rainy day fund. The point still stands. Tv makes sports go.

Gate reciepts/donations still bring in the
majority of revenue. Schools could sustain
off TV for maybe a year and highly doubt few schools have a "rainy day" fund.

Most schools spend money as fast as they make it...UGA being the exception.

I don't think that's the case anymore, it might even be closer to 20% now

No fans in stadiums clearly removes the gate receipts. Tv and donations may have to steer the boat for a year.

In 2017-18 ticket sales made accounted for $66.77 million of Texas' $214.9 million total revenue, that's about 31%. UT and other top earners can afford to take that hit, most can't

That was kinda my point.

But some schools make those "donations" mandatory by tying them into season ticket
renewals...gonna be a financial hit for UGA if Hartman funds are returned and I do not want to see any type of govt bail outs funds for any P5 schools.90% of em have been unbelievably irresponsible with the way they,'ve spent on facilities and coaches salaries. Let em take out loans to
get em through.
