Hopefully Tennessee says no. Its already gonna be tough enough to get back to respectability in football.

LSU would be a strong no along with Bama

Regardless of the LSU trolls here, LSU is smarter than that

Agree with this. Have had to bite my tongue at some of the derisive comments from TexasEx customers of mine about the SEC. I just look at them and smile.

Aggies have much fear of Texas.

The fans overwhelmingly seem to not want it. My personal reason for a no is it gives Texas a boost in recruiting. We don’t want them dipping into Louisiana anymore than they do. It also gives LSU no SEC advantage with Texas kids when we recruit over there. So yeah I’m a big no. But we have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes with people making decisions or what money is involved. So I just don’t know.

Can the schools vote to go back to 12 teams? That was the best version of the conference.

Hope so. If anything, I want rivalries preserved. The SEC is already a super conference based on talent.

The ACC and Pac 12 could literally add any number of schools left in the country, and they still aren’t going to dominate in FB.

Yeah I feel like this doesn’t get as far along as it is if Bama is not on board.

Why would they want MORE competition for recruiting and LESS money from tv deals?

Just my opinion..

No Votes
Texas A&M

Maybe Votes
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina

Yes Votes
Alabama
Auburn
Ole Miss
Miss State
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
LSU

Arkansas - I don’t see why Arkansas would say no. This would help with Texas recruiting and renew a historic rivalry. More than half the school is made up of Texas kids.. Their fans hate Texas.. meaning they want to beat their arse!

Missouri - There is no bad blood between Texas and Missouri imo. They left the Big 12 because they were afraid of getting left out of the dance, not because of Big Bad Texas. They preferred the Big 10.

Conclusion
It depends on how the MAYBE votes go.
Clemson, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami & FSU could still be blocked in the future with their block of 4 votes if Texas and/or Oklahoma promised them to join the block if needed. On top of that, there is no way for any of those schools to leave the ACC due to the grant of rights.

This is happening folks..

The footprint barely changes. I doubt the SEC deal changes much at all.

This isn’t about cable tv footprint anymore dude, that’s long since irrelevant. The sec would be adding two very large nationwide fanbases, and tons of football revenue. This is for streaming services and ESPN/SEC wants a super conference.

How far along is it though?

ALL that has leaked is that OU and texas reached out to the SEC, not a single SEC AD was aware of it, so who did they reach out to? And reaching out could mean anything

Absolutely LSU is a no vote.

I do enjoy seeing A&M fans squirm a little, but at the end of the day of course LSU would vote No to this.

Auburn would be a no vote: they’ve tried to move to the Eastern Division for years because it is preceived as weaker. With Bama possibly joining the East, it would become very tough.

Honestly? I think it is pretty far along for the public to know about it. That doesn’t mean it is a done deal. But the real question is.. who leaked it?

1) A&M - to try and blow it up. Clearly y’all don’t want this to happen, and that is understandable.

2) Someone else.. Not sure why someone else would leak it.. but I guess there might be a reason.

UF, UGA

If not a pod system, it most likely adds UTx and OU to West. Mizzou moves West and Bama/Au move east

Not sure UF and UGA would be ecstatic about the increased SoS, especially if UF has to maintain a cross-div with LSU and UGA has to replace AU with OU or Utx.
