Maybe B1G.

Does anybody ever really stop and think about this? Lets say OU gets AAU or the B1G wants them even without it would it be a sign OU has capitulated to their enemy? Most on here under 30 or 40 may not remember that is was the B1G that forced OU to go all the way to the Supreme Court.

I think by then the college football bubble will have burst and therefore college basketball will have a higher relative value than it does today.

I see a different cause and effect. CBB is not really much less valuable than football. The difference is the conferences get football money and the NCAA gets the basketball money. Say you do wind up with a P4 and they get the MBB money instead of the NCAA. The basketball schools in the conferences would really change the dynamics.

On your other thought, if 2024 rolls around and TAMU has bulked up then Utx would be SOL. Just like SEC no longer wants Clemson, I could see the same for Utx. I can see the B12 going to 12 but with the schools left on the boards, nothing really jumps value. B12 would become more like a Gang of 5 conference with 2 outliers instead of the B12 pre 2010 which had more meat at the top. Kansas really may be in the best spot in terms of mobility if they keep up their AAU and basketball brand. If they picked up a solid secondary sport like WBB or some such is would just be gravy.

Great point, I did not know that!

I was two when the famous ruling came down. I only know what was written about it in the modern era. Thank you for the insight.

I don't think anything happens until the GORs are almost gone. I hope A&M capitalizes on that time and The House That Johnny Built (tm).

You will never, ever get OU without OSU. Politicians here will never let that happen.

I'm not sure Kansas adds enough to the Big 10. UNC, UVA, ND,and Ga Tech would all be tasty morsels for them after the big prizes of Texas and ND.

State politics in Austin will determine the Longhorns' fate. If they're shackled to Tech, the Big 12 survives. Oklahoma has nowhere to go.

Same was said about Utx and TAMU, yet here we are.

Looks like OU is about as 'Southern' as Missouri, so I'm sure a lot of you would hate them in that respect:

Missouri is a mix of Midwestern and Southern.

Oklahoma is a mix of Midwestern and Texan.

Make it so.
And, for the record, I really wanted Mizzou in the SEC. And that's coming from a KU grad!

The statement above in quotes can only be written by a Utx fan or a B1G fan. Based on full comment, I am guessing they are drinking the koolaid from both camps.

I don't see TV execs writing checks because of Kansas. They've never heard of Kansas. ND and Texas make them salivate.

Please note this is from an SEC guy who thinks we should wish the ACC and Big 12 good health. Don't give the Big 10 more valuable properties.

Mizzou and Texas A&M fans can hold onto the TV set argument all they want. That's weak sauce. Mizzou and Texas A&M are mediocre football programs at best. Unfortunately, them being in the SEC has given them a big head.

OU's been whipping arse since the 1940s, when the state population was much smaller than it is today. Keep speaking all of this TV ratings garbage and population garbage all you want while I'll go attend another Oklahoma City Thunder game this fall.

OU is an elite program, and an OU-Bama, OU-LSU, OU-Georgia, OU-Auburn, OU-Florida, and very soon OU-Tennessee would draw big time ratings.

I think history and presitge would trump this argument of College Station, the St. Louis TV market, the Carolina's, or the Virginia schools drawing more ratings than a OU-LSU type game, I'm sorry. Just my opinion.

Doesn't matter, cause the Sooners aren't leaving Texas or OK State, and the SEC ain't taking all 3.

1. The Oklahoma schools do NOT bring anything significant ($$$) to the SEC. And we'd hafta take both OU and Okla State.

2. If the SEC is to expand, it should be to the east, in North Carolina and Virginia. Expansion in those states would actually add $$$ to SEC coffers.

3. The University of Oklahoma is absolutely complicit in any UTexass crap in the Big 12. Let 'em stew in their own mess.

Just was weird, usually when you hears B1G 18 to 24 talk and those schools are the ones in the mix it is a B1G fan making the comment.
