One of the most disruptive fronts in the country through six weeks could barely record a pressure against Venables Frankenstein portal line.

There’s only one portal player on the Oline and a top 100 true freshman Cayden Greene made sweat his bitch all game long. Y’all got worked at both LOS by superior talent.

I haven't gone back to look at the last drive, but I did laugh. My wife is a Longhorn and I congratulated her when the pornstar-named Texas kicker put them ahead.

She told me that they will still somehow blow the game, which they promptly did.

And to your point, that lauded Texas O-Line did get worked most of the game.

Ewers also melted the whole first half and in the key moments of the second half. The announcers were serving up their best Schtick trying to paint him as a clutch player. He then fumbles on a scramble.

Heard OU is 34-33-3 over last 70 years. Definitely heavy OU's way since 2000's.

Before the game on Saturday, since 1950, the record was 33-33-3 for OU- whorns, now 34-33-3. Yep, overall record is yours, so at some point, you have to move to the modern era.

Dude get a grip, what team don't have portal players? Blame the reffs, blame portal , blame the goal line stand because OU didn't get the memo that texASS was back . Take this loss like a bull with balls, not that you would know how it feels to have balls swinging

maybe OP was asking "does texas ever beat OU?" because the horns have won 4 of the last 15...

Both teams played intense and physical football, but at winning time, the texas boys got pushed around.

The Big XII is OU's conference right down to the last day...you don't even get scraps..sorry.

Actually, the 33-33-3 was from 1955. (do the math)

OU has a winning record from 1950 as well.

It’s weird to me that Texas fans take so much pride in games won before Oklahoma was even a state.

Probably because that’s the only meaningful stat they lead in. But still weird.

More like we couldn’t rotate defensive lineman due to the no huddle dink & dunk attack. Sweat probably played more snaps than he has since HS
This is a myth. Snap count below. OU runs very intense practices and came out ready f9r5s fight. Texas needs to be better prepared if we're fortunate enough to get a rematch this year.

Dline snap counts

Collins: 39
Sweat: 37
Burke: 49
Murphy: 34
Sorrell: 61
Carter: 16
Bush: 22
Finkley: 22
Broughton: 33
Bledsoe: 4

actually.. right or wrong, we changed our defense after the 1st series of the 2nd half and it worked, until the last series when we ran prevent.. so stupid

OU 20-17 at halftime
OU 27-17 10:21 3rd Qtr

24 min of game later

OU 27-30 1:32 4th Qtr

We clearly were mugging and trying to block the escape lanes.. idk that I’d call it manhandling when that is the objective

If you check the scoreboard OU won both halfs.

20-17 OU first half
14-13 OU second half

And not directed at you but the tons of posters from many schools on here the past 1.8 years since Brent was hired:

Brent's on the hot seat. Wrong.

Recruiting will take a hit. Wrong.

OU is the new Nebraska. Wrong

Texas is miles ahead of OU. Wrong.

Not a playoff contender. Wrong.

—-

I’ve been trying to tell posters but most wouldn’t listen. They looked at last years record only even when I explained how close that 6-7 was to being 10-3. Lets just say OU had finished 10-3, then this year would be looked at differently. And I follow the team closely all the programs and camps and recruiting and conditioning and so on. BV compleltely rebuilt the “program” not just the players. Read up on his SOUL program. The culture.

This year was not a surprise to me. The RRS is always a crap shoot due to rivalry but there was a pre season prediction thread on here somewhere and I picked OU at 11-1 in reg season and was downvoted infinity.

This is not the LR teams. Its not even Bobs last years teams. Its a team that has worked hard and learned a complicated system. Still short some positions but are getting great production out of who they have. I projected next year as being ready and even though we are 6-0 and still have a chance to make playoffs, we will be better next year. But sometimes a team comes together better than can be expected and that happened in Bobs second year and he won a title. This team has so many similarities to that team so if they can get to playoffs I would not write them off.

I see all this talk about a rematch. But here’s the thing about winning RRS. We have a win in the bank. Tx does not which means all the pressure is on tx to not lose again else someone could sneak in and get in the conf title game. Same for OU but this win gives them more wiggle room. Tx has no wiggle room at all.

I said from day 1 that Brent was the absolute best HC we could get. Few know this but he was working on a plan for if/when he’d become a HC for years prior to OU calling. Has a booklet that he’s written out and thought through everything he would do as a head coach. When OU came calling he spelled out many things they would have to do if he took the job. Like the SOUL program. Thats why it took time OU had to go back amd make sure they could do all he wanted because it was going to cost some money (the facility type things).

But all I read on here from 95% of posters was slander. There were some who knew, Clemson fans for one. And some Bama/Georgia fans as well. But a majority kept saying “will be new Nebraska”. And I just read it and took mental notes.

Sark is a good coach but he doesn’t have what Brent does. Few do. Sark has more talent than OU but it takes more than just talent, you have to put it together and also make “depth”. OU worked on depth last uear and this year. Early season we played 89 players in one game. BV has 63 new players this year.

Side note. After last years 49-0 loss our conditioning coach has an excercise with the weight ball and the players had to do it 49 times every practice. Since last year. It was a daily reminder.

And in the game Sat, what made me the most happy and proud was the 4 goaline stuffs from the 1. Thats just Brent getting team ready for SEC. He’s a bit ahead of schedule but its still a schedule regardless wins or losses he knows what it takes to play against SEC teams.

To be fair...

There are actually four "portal guys" on the line that OU started against Texas. But what ignorant (as in lack of knowledge) Texas fans don't realize is that three of them of been at OU for two and three years now. Only one of them is brand new and he is a fifth year senior from Stanford.

So the whole premise that OU's line couldn't stop Texas' line unless they were holding because "portal guys" is moronic (as in insult).

That math doesn't add up correctly.

AI says it is 38-34-3 in favor of UTx from 1950-2023, with one post-season game. 17-8 in favor of OU from 2000 until today

Does this mean that wins over backup QBs don’t count? As a longhorn fan we’ve been told the opposite for quite a while

Strange but true: Oklahoma has the best strength of schedule of AP top 5 teams

UGA: 84th
Michigan: 111th
Ohio State: 54th
FSU: 47th
OU: 30th

The only AP top 10 team with a better strength of schedule is Texas (1st)

I don't know who "Al" is but the correct answer is OU 36- Tx 34 with three ties. (This also includes OU winning over Texas in the CCG of '18 and is not inclusive of 1950 which was an OU win).

The series has been dead even since 1943.

Oh please bet me on this. It's on the coaches changing board but I'm sure you edited it.
