Every Freshman hits a wall and has a terrible game at some point.

This might be the game. I'm no fortune teller but if their is ever a game for that to happen it is on the road in this game.

Should be more concerned about him falling under the pressure of him throwing into the teeth of the best defensive backfield he has faced.

But yeah, the stadium too.

He can make you pay for blitzing with his legs too. Good vision and instinct as a runner and fast.

Has 21 yards more than Chad Kelly. We did fine against him. Not terribly concerned about our ability to contain your freshman.

No, kid has ice in veins. He will keep getting up and moving on.

I'm not making any predictions but, eventually, it will happen. He is after all, a Freshman.

Hurts gets all the plays from Kiffin. Will Kiffin fail under the pressure of Death Valley on a Saturday night? Maybe he should sit in the sky box.

Every Bama QB under Saban has struggled in their wins in Tiger Stadium, but they are great at making plays when they need to the most.

I feel like he will look composed as always, but I see him being 50/50, probably starting out slow and a little messy like he did in the USC game, and getting better and more adjusted as the game goes on.

He does have talent, his running ability will keep LSU from trying to hammer him at least initially or only initially. They will try it for sure and that outcome will dictate Bamas offensive presence.

Kid has played in Cowboy Stadium for a season opener against USC, Neyland on the third Saturday in October, and came back from 24-3 on the road after a major frickup against a team that had beaten bama the last two years. I know y'all think Tiger Stadium is mystical or some shite, but it isn't. It's a loud venue. Noise doesn't hurt. If you're expecting the kid to be overwhelmed by the atmosphere then you're in for a rude awakening. Some people are emotional, some people keep an even keel. Hurts might have some frickups Saturday night. It won't have anything to do with the venue, and he's not going to let a mistake have a snowball effect, he's just not that kind of dude. Look elsewhere for optimism

Depends on the crowd. Never easy in any stadium and especially death valley when your trying to call or change a play with a rowdy student section raising hell.

LSU should try to "make him play quarterback" which is a Muschamp quote. I would much rather watch Hurts try to beat a team throwing than running.

This is what we did with Manziel. Worked out pretty well for us....and Hurts is no Manziel.

I could see OJ Howard having a breakout game.

He may have a big game, but I seriously doubt he will break out more than he did in January.

IMO LSU has to:

1. Stop the run
2. Contain/Rattle Hurts
3. Establish a solid run game

All in order to have a chance to win. I know it does't take a football genius to figure that out but its facts. Im a huge LSU fan but this Bama team is good.

You mean pick plays will be Bama's bread and butter plays just like they have been since Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa.

Our DBS must TACKLE well in space. Unless we bust a coverage he will not hurt you on any intermediate to downfield throws but they run a ton of illegal pics and constantly block downfield during pass plays so we will have a lot of one on one tackle oppuntunities. Gotta make em and rally to the ball.

"Establish a solid run game"

This is key and the big difference from last year. Under miles we had to get chunk plays in the run game we had to run to make first downs. This season we can have 3 yard gains and be effective. In other words if we have 2 runs gain 5-7 yards with those runs that's fine because Etling can move the chains for us. So if we come out gaining three yards per carry fine don't get discouraged and abandon it keep putting us in 3rd and 5 or less and we will have a chance to win the game.

McCarron & Sims both did for 3 quarters. They showed up when it mattered though. 8 imagine Hurts will have a similar opportunity this weekend, just a matter of if he can capitalize or not.

Hurts is a special player, but USC, Tennessee, Arky and Ole Misd all have mediocre to bad defenses.

A&M's defense is overrated but outside of their DL, their defense is average at best. It showed against Bama.

LSU has strength in all three phases defensively and can afford to put a spy on Hurts. Kid is good enough to beat LSU, but it won't be easy and in theory will be his toughest test.
