Did you see the Bama drops last night? If Metchie and Williams are running those routes those are touchdowns. The first INT was because the receiver made no effort, the second was a miscommunication.

Maybe they wouldn't have changed their strategy but they would have lost because Metchie and Williams would have abused the UGA secondary and Young was still dropping dimes in spite of the pressure.

I still can't get over Agiye Hall and the way he tried to catch that ball right before the blocked FG, also was he the one who tried to catch that ball with one hand down the sideline for absolutely no reason right before the pick 6?

stomp, no. Win, yes. And that's not mentioning the other 5 or so players missing from the first go round

Alabama had enough talent at WR to be competitive against this Georgia team even without Metchie or Williams. The reason it didn't happen was due to a season-long problem with very limited WR rotations. My hunch is the lack of player development over the season was due to the approach on offense partly due to the lacking OL and diminished RB depth...partly due to BOB going with what he knows.

Bill O'Brien's approach to this season was to use a pro-spread passing attack to compliment the RPO offense when it wasn't working. This required a degree of precision in the routes that the staff clearly only trusted a few guys to execute. They really leaned heavily on Metchie, Williams, and Bolden and that's it. The lackluster Alabama passing attack in the playoffs really demonstrates that this was truly a problem. Cincy runs an RPO throw stopper defense but the left-hand approach with the pro-spread throws looked out of sync because Metchie wasn't around to be a possession receiver. Georgia sorta did a similar approach to take away the RPO throws and make Alabama win with the pro spread stuff. Once again, it looked sloppy with the WRs clearly not hitting spots on the field Young anticipated with their routes.

I'm not sure that Williams going down was the only reason Alabama lost. The combo of losing Metchie then Williams was a mortal wound to the offense. They lost their possession receiver who helped mask the lack of a reliable rush offense. Then they lost their home run threat that allowed them to not have to execute 15 play drives to score touchdowns.

My hunch is that, yes, Georgia loses this game if Alabama had their compliment of players required to run the offense designed for them by their staff. I hate that this staff on offense didn't do more to get a very talented freshman receiver class ready to play for a time like this one. Alabama had true frosh WRs making massive plays in the CFPCG win over Georgia last time...were going to need that again this year due to injuries. I put the onus on the lack of player development on the design of the offense for this season. Luckily, it seems that BOB is going to spring a very mixed performance as a college coordinator into an NFL HC or OC job.

?? Left to guessing. One thing that is a fact is Georgia imposed their will in the 4th quarter on both sides of the ball.
Another way to look at this is maybe bama didn’t even belong if not for the mental barrier they had over Georgia for years. Bama lost to A&M should have lost to LSU and Auburn. Barriers are made to break

No excuse for that roster to only have to guys capable of producing.

Bama's roster has holes in it every season. You can only recruit so many.

Some seasons injuries expose those holes, most seasons we're lucky.

Stetson had that deer in headlights look on his face for most the game, and uga didn't do anything that was impressive to me.

He did, then stepped the fk up to close out the game. That was impressive.

Seeing BY get shook and shite the bed to end the game was not a good look.

It sucks that they both got hurt against us. I don't remember the Metchie injury, but the Jameson was untouched.

That dude sure has skinny rails for legs. I hope he gets better soon and is still drafted high.

But they were out and you finish the dance with what you have. Every team in the country could say well we would have won if player XYZ had not been out hurt or covid. Is this your first time watching sports? Go cry with your participation trophy somewhere and just stop with the lame excuses already! You really are making yourself look stupid and like a child throwing a Bi!ch fit.

Typically a good thing when trying to avoid ligament injuries.

Damn, you must have been REALLY unimpressed with the other team then.

Although, I get it, I was extremely unimpressed with the win you squeaked out against one of our worst teams in the last 30 years.
