With the teams they could field at the time of the selection, I truly believe OSU was much better than Bama. If Bama is able to get well on defense across the board in the next month, they will probably be better than the team OSU could field at that time.

Who did Alabama beat to prove they are a good, top 4 team? I do not see a single good team that bama beat this season.

A team is good because of who they beat.

I would say it depends. Would that 2 loss East team have a 30 point loss to Kentucky?

Their record says otherwise, but ok. . . then a 30 point loss to Texas A&M

I sure as hell don't. I hate Bama been hating them long before the baby bear took over, but you guys need to look past that. How can a 2 loss team that got blown out by a unranked Iowa be in the playoff?

Random thoughts here:

Joel Klatt kept saying the committee was giving Bama opponents higher rankings than they deserved to get Bama in. I can see kinda. But i don't think there is a massive conspiracy.

Bama's weak schedule was against them. But i think all P5 teams shouldn't be allowed to schedule FCS teams. and have to have 2 P5 opponents OOC a year.

Wisky's loss was better than Bama's but they weren't gonna put them in either.

As a life long LSU fan who hates Alabama, Alabama certainly belongs in the 4 team play-off. The committee got it right.

But it’s more to do with how clearly the conference championship games don’t matter. In fact, all they can do is hurt teams as happened with Auburn and Wisconsin.

It didn't hurt Auburn at all. If not for the SECCG, they wouldn't have even had a chance at making the playoffs. They failed to capitalize but that doesn't take away the fact that the game gave them an opportunity they wouldn't have otherwise possessed.

Get rid of conference championship games and expand to 8 teams. Needs to happen tomorrow.

Don't get rid of the championship games, but do go to 8 with an automatic bid to the P5 conference champs.

Saban had a month to prepare in 2014, and won the 1st quarter vs tOSU, a 21-6 lead.

Then, well does anybody remember?.....42-35 tOSU won.

tOSU is flawed this year, no doubt. They don't deserve to be in, but neither does Bama.

Neither should’ve been considered. They both played what amounted to a playoff game in OSU vs Oklahoma and Bama vs AU. Both lost. UCF has the same number of ranked wins as bama also lol

Who would you have put in place of LSU that year? Also in my opinion, that 2 loss tiger team would wipe the field with your one loss team y'all had this year.

Opinions are nice to have, except they are not fool proof. Talent wise, LSU was loaded that year, but you still lost to a horrible defensively challenged Arkansas. Now granted it was a close game, but Vegas had the Tigers winning by 4 touchdowns. That is something you can’t overlook. As far as who should have been number two that year, probably USC

USC lost to a 4-8 Stanford team that year. I would guess the spread was around 4 td's in that game as well

I think OSU has more potential, yet they are more inconsistent. If both teams bring their A-game, OSU wins 6/10, imo. If not, Bama wins 7/10.

I don't know whether OSU is better than Bama or not. That's part of my issue. OSU got blown out, but so did UGA. Then, UGA won the rematch handily. Why aren't we having this discussion about UGA? Because UGA won its conference championship in convincing fashion.

Meanwhile, Bama did nothing but watch the conference championship games after winning no significant games all season. I'm not arguing that OSU deserved it more than Bama or that one team is better than the other. My hangup is that the system sucks.

Conference games should not cost a team a playoff spot and benefit a team that did not play in them. That's just moronic. Either stop this nonsense or remove the conference games.

Kansas. The Jayhawks only had one loss. That was to Mizzou, who was also loaded that year.
