I've seen talking heads making this argument but I certainly haven't seen "Ohio State" making this argument. From everything I've seen and heard Ohio State people understand how damaging the Iowa loss was to their chances and they've moved on.
Unless you're talking about the lunatic fringe that every fanbase has and if so you're making an idiotic statement.
Here is the direct quote from Urban Meyer: "I’m sticking up for our team with quality wins and a conference championship and I think the committee’s got a tough decision to make.”
Does the head coach count as "Ohio State" making this argument? I believe its YOU that made the "idiotic statement."

I sure as hell don't. I hate Bama been hating them long before the baby bear took over, but you guys need to look past that. How can a 2 loss team that got blown out by a unranked Iowa be in the playoff?

I also just watched an interview on ESPN with Meyer who said he supports people who do their jobs and was basically saying he understood the tough decision, was hoping their good wins would be enough, but in the end said they have to focus on the next game.
Never been a huge fan of his but he was very gracious in that situation. And avoided all leading questions that were trying to get him to say something about how they got jobbed.

on Saturday...espn gave the odds of all teams vs. Bama ..made by a Vegas bookmaker...Bama was -1 vs OSU..basically a wash.
OSU loss to Iowa was unforgivable..but..they had 3 good wins after that.
Bama lost there last game..they have no data points to point that they are heading in a positive direction.
There have been 3 times now in recent history where a team loses it's last game and then gets to play a NC...Nebraska in '01, Bama vs. LSU, and now Bama again. The Nebraska and Bama i 2nd chances were horribly unfair decisions for all of cfb....I think this one will earn it's own infamy..

What year did Alabama lose its last game and then play LSU?

No, but Bama getting in is still dumb.

No, only a few media types and a majority of the Buckeye fans. A few are reasonable and rational, Not much on Bama, but good Lord, they have it going on up there.

you're right..it wasn't the last game...so this makes only the 2nd time in history that a team who lost it's last game gets rewarded with a chance to win a NC.
IMO, if not the Buckeyes..then UCF or USC.

No, but their QB doesn’t run straight back 15 yards every time he senses the slightest bit of pressure.
