You do realize LSU lost at home to Troy, don't you?

I don't know why the committee doesn't just come and say 1 loss team > 2 loss team, unless it's a truly extraordinary circumstamce.
That is the way it was for decades, but now with the committee and talk of resumes, people think 2 loss teams have a real shot of getting on over one loss teams.

Yes we lost at home to Troy. It sucked, its over. So what? Is Syracuse better than Clemson? They beat them.
I don't understand how OSU can make the argument based on being Big 10 Champions, when this time last year they themselves were put in over Big 10 Champ Penn State!
Alabama is not only much better than OSU, when they get healthy and Saban has a month to prepare, they are going to kick Clemson's arse.

OSU had a home lose to Oklahoma and a bad lose to Iowa.
Both Georgia and Bama had a lose to a good Auburn team on the road.
OSU lost their playoff bid with the game against Oklahoma. Even with a bad loss to Iowa if they had beat Oklahoma they are in the playoff and the Sooners would be left out.

LSU "could" beat almost anyone on OSU's schedule and they "could" lose to almost anyone on OSU's schedue. Re: Troy.
I agree OSU doesn't deserve to be in. So relax

you know, all this hype about how great the big ten is, is really getting on my nerves. its phony hype, the big ten east was third in line of toughest divisions in the power 5 conferences, FREAKING THIRD! behind number 1 SEC west and number 2 ACC coastal.
when a team as slow as wisconsin can go undefeated in the big ten regular season, it proves just how truly weak the conference is.

Heck no.
But it’s more to do with how clearly the conference championship games don’t matter. In fact, all they can do is hurt teams as happened with Auburn and Wisconsin. Could have cost OU as well.
Get rid of conference championship games and expand to 8 teams. Needs to happen tomorrow.

Well that is exactly my point. Losses matter to the committee. Two losses should mean you don’t get in. Only LSU got the benefit of the doubt 10 years ago in a home game for the NC. Against probably the worst QB ever to suit up for OSU, Todd Boeckman. So no team should get the privilege of playing for a title with two losses, especially when one of those losses is to an average Iowa. LMAO. It is what it is. And JT Barrett couldn’t hit trash can if his arm was hovering over it from two feet.

Ok, if AU and UGA are 1 and 2, who in the world do you have as the 3rd best team in the SEC then?

Miami needed the conference championship game to get in, so did OSU and TCU to have a chance to be in the discussion

Good point. But only OSU won their conference. And it still didn’t matter. It boils down to losses as well. I think it’s fair to say that the committee could decide on six or eight teams, or agree to change the weight of each component in its criteria. I know Mercer is a warmup game, but try and add someone like Akron or Toledo if you want a warmup game. At least those teams can field a competitive group. Maybe if even for a quarter or two.

I've seen talking heads making this argument but I certainly haven't seen "Ohio State" making this argument. From everything I've seen and heard Ohio State people understand how damaging the Iowa loss was to their chances and they've moved on.
Unless you're talking about the lunatic fringe that every fanbase has and if so you're making an idiotic statement.

of course a lot of people do. that's why there is a controversy.
just depends on what factor is most important to you.
here's something - if the committee had so much respect for Wisconsin that they left them at 6, how come that didn't translate into a great win for OSU, making the difference? I would've expected Wisconsin to drop to 10.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Who said it didn't translate into a great win for OSU? It's very possible, actually probable, that the 30+ point loss cancelled out that great win

if a 2 loss East team had beaten an undefeated mighty Alabama, do you think they would've gotten in? of course, Alabama would've probably stayed in the top 4.
until Alabama doesn't win, they will keep getting the benefit of the doubt.
dare we hope it starts this year with a first round loss to Clemson?
