re: Crawfish price check post-Easter

I can tell you that in the High Water of '73, crawfish were super abundant. I would come home on Friday night from college and go to Tony's "Hut" restaurant in Opelousas and pick them up boiled for 10 cents a pound. Would go pick them up and have an ice cold mug of beer while waiting for 50 cents....

Good post. Correct on Guidry's. I personally love going to Ms. People are great. Hunting is fantastic. About the only difference between the two states is the river, other than French influence in La. Other than that I feel right at home in Ms. I have several friends here who own from a few h...

You must be writing this in jest. Texas had probably more Texas troops fighting in the Red River Campaign than La Confederate forces. Texas Cavalry as well as Mounted Infantry was a major portion of Gen Richard Taylor's combined forces. The Texans along with General Mouton's 18th La Infantry foug...

I am soft now also! Many things were better then, but being hot was not one of them. I loved all of the old people from my youth. I sat for hours listening to stories of life when they were young. Surviving the Depression, the High Water of ‘27. My grandfather telling of pranks they pulled as b...

I just watched the video. Very well done. As I am 70 years old, I can relate to much of the main character's experiences. I grew up in a time of major changes. My mother was the daughter of share croppers, my father's father was the overseer on a plantation. I can remember going to meet my gran...

Correct to some extent. In my case I can discuss much of our history. All of my ancestors except 2 came from Acadie(I know I left off the accente en Francais cause I can't find it). One line descended from Colonial French America (Chevalier Coulon de Viller) in the Illinois Valley then to Mobile ...

I hate to see your industry fighting the imports. I refuse to buy or eat imported fish or seafood that is available from USA farm or wild caught. If I go to a restaurant and its says imported, I make a point of telling management that I will never order it. It may not mean anything to them, but t...

This. When I started Cancer treatments, I was told, hunt and eat all the wild game you want. Please don't handle, clean, or eat wild hogs, too much chance for infection. Now I shoot and let them feed the Buzzards. Pigs destroyed three of my feeders in the last couple of weeks. Hate the Bastards!...

Have you considered that your neighbors might have different ideas of why they hunt? Not everyone is a trophy hunter. Some like the meat, some like being out observing God's creation. Some value time with family and friends. As long as neighbours are legal and ethical, what they do is their busin...

Please give us a review of your experience. I had to walk away from my duck lease due to mobility issues. After 58 years of doing the one thing I truly love, I did not shoot a duck. I know it will not be the same, but it will ease the pain. A few ducks to eat would be icing on the cake for me....

In addition to this give away of accumulated reserves to a "charity" run by politicians, the current board members will be appointed as advisors with no defined roles for 10 years at $100000 a year as the bribe. So in summary, BCBS will no longer exist as a Mutual company. It will be assumed by a ...
