Does any team have a shittier “rivalry weekend” opponent than UGA?

GA Tech is just pathetic. I can’t imagine any UGA fans care about watching this game on an annual basis.

Even Vandy pulls out a win against the Vols now and then.

Well, since LSU doesn't have any, I guess ours is shittier.

We need to think about either moving them up in the season and playing someone else this week or not playing them every year. Hurting our strength of schedule.

Yes. LSU.

GT’s program history is significantly better than tamu’s, they have more recent success, and are a much better academic institution.

UGA should be glad they play a legit P5 program during rivalry week. LSU fans have to endure a game against UAB followed by a game against tamu.

I never thought I’d miss the days of playing Arkansas this weekend.

Georgia tech is still a better program than half of the SEC.

That is the saddest thing of all.
Auburn is essentially an ACC program that hasn't quit the SEC yet. And that is the benchmark for all of the programs worse than auburn.

Are you 24? It used to be a very competitive series and will be again eventually. Things are cyclical.

The SEC should move UGA-UT to rivalry weekend.

Idk about that. Their admin and fans simply don’t care enough and therefore won’t give it their program the money it takes to make this a competitive series again. Jmho

It reminds me of when LSU would play Tulane every year. If we beat Tulane people said so what? it’s Tulane. If we lost to Tulane it was HaHa you lost to Tulane. A no win situation.

Texas doesn't join the conference for a few more years. And I don't even think their fans would appreciate that.

Why is everyone so desperate to change shite?

Historically? Sure.

More recent history? Not really.

Tech has had losing records in 6 of the last 8 seasons (while playing in the ACC) - only one of those might turn into a winning record if they didn't have to play Georgia (2017). 4 of those seasons finished with just 3 wins (while, I'll reiterate, playing in the ACC). They are 1-1 in bowl games during that time frame, and haven't been ranked since they dropped out of the polls in 2015.

Outside of Vandy I doubt there's been a single team in the past 8 years that someone plays on rivalry weekend that's been worse.

Compare that to Louisville (5 winning seasons) and Florida State (4 winning seasons).

We win for sure. Are we the only SEC team that doesn’t have one?

we've had 92k+ in the stadium for a spring game. I can assure you that we'll watch any game the Dawgs play

It’s true, but who would GA replace them with?
Florida, Kentucky, SC all have a in state ACC rival finale. UT & Vandy play, and Ark & Missouri are tied up. Clemson could work if they weren’t already playing SC.

Now Texas & Oklahoma are going to change that because they don’t have an end of year date either. You’d think they’d put Texas & A&M back together. Maybe you get Arkansas back and Missouri becomes Oklahoma’s dance partner.

I mind Tech a lot less now that they don’t run that cut block triple option offense where every play is a season ending ACL for your DL and LB waiting to happen.

LSU dropped their old SEC foe, Tulane, years ago. Maybe it’s time UGA let the Jackets go, eh?
