Only if he dialed up that pick 6. Otherwise, they would still be playing.
Last I checked we took a victory knee after a 10 play drive to ice it on Clemson’s 20 and missed a field goal earlier in the game.
Monken called a solid game, considering.

Kirby will win a lot of games trying to be Alabama 2009 version 2.0. Kirby will not win a lot of championships trying to be Alabama 2009 version 2.0. College football has changed.

Ok. I don’t know why you think in 2021 Kirby is trying to be Bama in 2009.
We made 30 pass attempts on Saturday and 29 rush attempts, 10 of which came on the last drive while successfully eating clock. And against a team that largely played Cover 3 all game to eliminate deep pass attempts.
That doesn’t support the misplaced belief that Kirby is still operating on a run first basis

I don't think Monken is a bad hire yet.
In many respects, he's taken the individual journey that Alabama has taken as a program over the last decade. Over his career, he's basically crimped off the air raid and spread option systems prevalent in college and layered them on top of a pro-style precision passing game (west coast offense).
In theory, it seems like a positive move compared to the Chaney and Coley approach. Ultimately the truth is determined on the field. He's had a rough go of it w/r/t QB health & availability in his 1 year and a game in Athens though.
This is something I'm interested to see how it develops over the season. I think the longterm outlook of Daniels' core injury is a big caveat here too. Core tends to get a lot of blood so if it isn't some nasty muscle problem you would assume that this will heal with rest much sooner than problems in the extremities.

Do you remember when DP4Tide made a thread that wasn’t about UGA?

Didn’t UGA end the game taking a knee on Clemson’s 12 yard line?

Yes, but if you want to play that game if it had been tied Clemson wouldn't have gone for it on 4th down inside their own territory with 5 min left.

Maybe. I guess we’ll never know. What we do know is that UGA did get the pick 6 and win.

Same song and dance this season for UGA. Offensively they won't be able to keep up in ATL or the playoffs.
The decision not to go with Fields in the 2nd half of the Sugar Bowl vs Texas will always haunt Kirby. If Fields takes over and they go spread offense who knows where they'd be at right now...JT Daniels ain't it.

I thought the rumor he was leaving was already out at that point, which is why he didn’t play a single snap in that game.

Y'all sound just like LSU fans trying to prop up that idiot Ensmingef who was a long known terrible coach.
