We won a wbb championship. Also, for those of use who aren't blue-haired, dildo-waving Austin libtards, it's not a difficult choice. You just stand for the anthem.

Hope you didn’t pull a muscle reaching like that. Imagine trying to use a war in ukraine as your argument for forcing ppl to stand during a song.

I used Ukraine as an example to show how fortunate Americans are to live here, but if you feel forced to stand for your flag during its "song", then the rest of us would probably be better off if you didn't even show up.
PS- And if you don't think that the U.S. is worth paying your respects, then don't let the door hit you in the arse on your way back to your real country!

As a participant in a sporting event you show up and stand for the anthem end of discussion. As a fan if a little display of national pride triggers you go hide in the bathroom

I’m not the one crying about ppl not standing for a song. If ppl exercising their freedoms trigger you then maybe you should just stay home.

I'd care so much. All the players on my team need to be super patriots according to my personal standards or I could never enjoy a W. That's how miserable I am

I don't need to stand up for a song before a game to prove it.
If you consider the National Anthem just a song, you don't love this country.

As for the OP, if USCe really wanted to protest, they should have boycotted the tournament altogether. But they didn't do that, did they. Because it didn't cost them anything to not show up for the anthem.

So brave.

ETA: I hope she didn't do this on purpose, but that's a pretty weak excuse she gave for it.

I know this is political, but look at the C.K. event in the NFL a few years ago.

In a 6-to-3 decision, the Court overruled its decision in Minersville School District v. Gobitis and held that compelling public school children to salute the flag was unconstitutional. In an opinion written by Robert Houghwout Jackson, the Court found that the First Amendment cannot enforce a unanimity of opinion on any topic, and national symbols like the flag should not receive a level of deference that trumps constitutional protections. He argued that curtailing or eliminating dissent was an improper and ineffective way of generating unity.

Having the national anthem played before a sporting event is actually kind of random if you think about it.

Everyone should be forced to stand during the Pledge of Allegiance, just as it's Socialist author intended.
