Do we really want to lose our seniors’ eligibility for a farce of a season?

Likely no national title game. So, this season is essentially a farce. I get how damaging a lack of season would be to the local economies, but there likely won’t be anywhere near a full stadium anyhow.

look what happened to college baseball when the seniors did NOT lose their eligibility. you end up with gazillions on players on each team and there's not room for that.

it's a lose/lose deal

So are the Ivy League teams that aren’t playing at all this fall having their players lose eligibility? If not, are they going to be allowed to raise scholarship limits next year?

It seems like the NCAA needs to step up, do their job, and make a uniform decision instead of allowing every conference to decide for themselves because it’s about to be a cluster and a complete waste of a season.

Who's saying this?

They'll probably be gone anyway and do you really want to lose those millions in TV revenue?

It's a serious revenue dent.

I don’t think anyone wants that.
Nor did we want to cancel basketball and baseball season.
Unfortunately it’s not up for vote.

i don't think the Ivy League has scholarships.

i'm not sure the NCAA has the authority to decide which schools play football or how their season is structured.

i'm afraid the year 2020 is going to continue to be a cluster. but if games ARE played i wouldn't consider it a complete waste. the kids like playing it (and they get free school) and we like watching it (even if on TV). sure, it ain't perfect but IT'S FOOTBALL.

No national title game should technically mean it’s an unofficial season per NCAA rules and not count. Would be an exhibition and if conferences want to award trophies that’s their business in my opinion.

If the season is moved to the spring and the draft is not moved this could be a season without a lot of Srs and high prospect Jrs.

The Ivy League doesn’t redshirt nor have athletic scholarships. If someone decides to take a “gap” year, I don’t know how they would handle that.

NCAA has nothing to do with the CFB playoffs or NC game.

No idea where the OP got the idea there won't be a playoff

The big time programs need football. The top 50 want to play a season, and if they do there will be a playoff and a champion crowned. As far as the Joe's Colonoscopy Bowl and their ilk, I don't give one damn.

The seniors will be happy to play. Most non-pros will be leaving anyway, and the pros will want a chance to make a case to the NFL.

Obviously there's no win here, but the biggest L is not playing.

The University/College system does not exist to provide a mechanism for extracurricular activities... I could give less a crap if a game is played when lives and further national economic damage is rendered. Yes it will be bad for the schools but they shouldn’t be solely reliant upon that tax revenue to survive.

Spoken like a TRUE MERCENARY — Bravo!

We wouldn’t consider playing for the True Love of the Game — You are a credit to all Gumps, lol

Likely no national title game.

That’s an idiotic statement as rankings could easily comprise a TOP 4.

Don’t worry, your Gumps in decline won’t be there in 2020 anyway.

Do you know the correct grammar for the plural possessive of senior?

And why does his use bother you?

Not writing is killing them and they expect the computer/device to correct mistakes now.
