The rule literally didn't exist then.

And LSU voted for said rule (a few weeks ago)

But just like Al Davis said, Kiffin is a con man. What he says he will do is different than what he was doing.

You have been hitting this topic 100%. Keep up the good work.

Did what exactly anyways? They didn’t sue anyone or roster the players. So what did they do after the rule was established that broke the rule?

LSU seems to be doing okay now. Certainly better than this year's shitshow at Auburn.

Yep! And that's Kiffin's problem. Despite being a good play caller/ coach he gets bored with his situation. He saw Oats challenge the system and all Kiffin could think about it is "that could be me!" He wants the spotlight and if he can hammer in some disingenuous sentiment of caring for players as the cause then he is the type of person that wont get swatted back without a mess.

Incorrect on both accounts. Bama was told no and did it anyway until they legally could not. LSU was told no and then legally allowed and still didn’t do it.

Had they said "ok we won't play these guys" and filled the roster none of this would have happen.

The two spots were left open as "frick you" to the SEC, saying "once there's enough legal ambiguity these guys will be added"

When LSU filled the spots yesterday, they conceded.

My understanding is that during the Bediako situation, the SEC itself had no rule against playing former pros. They had never needed one as they had always piggybacked off the NCAA's rule. That's why Bediako's challenge was made against the NCAA and the SEC was included only as an interested party. So in that case Alabama, although perhaps acting against the SEC's wishes, did not break any actual conference rules. Leading into football season the SEC decided to institute their own rule against playing former pros, which now means that if LSU (or any other school) decides to play such players they will be breaking conference rules. That's the difference.

This will completely go over the heads of these low IQ LSU fans

There is nothing against the rules about not filling 105 roster spots. In fact a lot of schools don’t. So again, what actual rule was broken. This is all just hurt feelings and sorry that’s not a reason to vote to expel any member of the conference, let alone one of the charter members.

I mean sure that is a minute difference. But it is in the SEC bylaws that if you do not have good NCAA standings you can not play. That’s been in the bylaws for a long time. You’re right that is a difference, but the overall precedent is the same. It’s never been legal to play pro players. Just like it’s never been legal to play someone without eligibility or someone who was denied a medical redshirt. As far as I’m aware LSU did not break any rules either as you can not roster a player with a contract. And said players aren’t rostered. Not trying to be difficult here but it really seems like some players are playing illegally. Only a select group is being targeted for doing it.

If LSU fans are so low IQ like you say explain what rule was actually broken.

The rule was created after LSU intended to roster Wright and Harris. LSU did not roster Wright or Harris after hearing the new rule

The difference is Bama runs the SEC. LSU is just another school.

Dumbass they didn't have a rule this time either. They hastily made one after they found out LSU was interested in rostering a couple of the players granted a fifth year. THERE WAS NO RULE!

The lawsuit is specifically that the SEC can enforce its rules, not that LSU broke them.

The open spots were specific signaling that LSU could and would fill them with the players in question when the legal umbrella opened.

It's not complicated.

If LSU did what they did two weeks ago none of this happens.
