I know...he won 2 championships, but was it with Zook's players?

Not as much as he hated you guys apparently. Couldn't wait to get the hell out of town.

He had a valid health problem. A bruised vagina is something that should be taken seriously.

Well, maybe Penn State could hire Saban, and Michigan could hire Miles. Then, we can see how long Urban stays at Ohio St before he breaks down again
My bet would be under 3 seasons

Its pretty funny being up here in Big 10 country. These people are basically in denial that Urban is about to dominate their league for the foreseeable future. It is starting to dawn on them, as Urban is about to go undefeated, in his first year, with a team that is on probation.
Urban is a great coach. Who knows why he left. If I were a UF fan, I'd be a little miffed, but you have to appreciate what he did for the program. Under Meyer UF had their best run since the mid-1990s under Spurrier. Actually, Urban's teams arguably performed better than Spurrier's on the national stage, and probably represented UF's best era of football. Ever.

He couldn't handle it at UF because he preaches discipline but doesn't practice it. He talks tough like Saban but follows through like Mark Richt. We were turning into a thug program like FSU or Miami and it stressed him out so bad he basically stopped eating regularly. He also had a bad relationship with the state and local press.
I think it might be better for him in Ohio because it is home. For some reason he never felt at home in Gainesville. He needs a place like OSU or PSU because it is more cult like and he won't get called out by the media or fans, imo.
I don't hate the guy, but I wasn't really happy with him about his last season. It's really not his fault because he tried to leave the year before and the AD talked him out of it.
So mixed feelings here.

Meyer quit on UF, and left us severely depleted in numbers. Luckily, Muschamp inherited some talented players on defense, but no defense under Urban Meyer has been as good as the UF defense this year, statistically speaking. On offense, well, that pretty much speaks for itself. No OL and no playmakers on the outside.
With all that being said, I'm appreciative for the success he brought to UF, but the way he went out was quite distasteful. Considering it was disingenuous.

I don't disagree with that. Just think he had nothing in the tank and wanted out and didn't really man up and tell Foley no. Hence the fiasco in his last season because he mentally checked out. Never talk an employee out of quitting. If their heart isn't in it anymore u will get crap work out of them.

He can't manage stress. Coaching other jobs is nothing like in the SEC.

I get that. It was not just his last year though, it was his last couple years of player evaluations, etc. He fricked the program in the arse going out.

Defenses started to catch up to his style of play. Having Tebow helped too.

Yeah I get that. Just have to say he did a good job overall but left poorly. 2009 we were 13-1 though, so can't complain too much about that year. 2010 was a train wreck.
I don't hate the guy or wish him any more ill than any other coach. Disingenuous is a good word to describe him. I will borrow that from u.

Kind of sums up every Gator fan's feelings about Meyer.

SABAN literally gave the man a heart attack after the 2009 SECCG.
And it resulted in a bruised vag.

There were health issues brought on by stress, but not Football related. Think Petrino without the Harley. Foley and the Bull Gators are just better at hiding it than Hogs

He definitely quit on UF. He took a year off and then went to coach at Ohio State, a school that gas just as much pressure for a coach as UF.

I do believe he had health/emotional issues. Remember when he would cry after losses in his first year at UF? I believe competing in the SEC was killing him.
We'll see if he can coach long term in the easier Big Ten.

If health really was an issue, Meyer would've stayed off the sidelines for more than one fricking year. The man quit. There might have been other factors involved besides Saban but he undoubtedly quit.
