Then become a fan of your current team once you either went to school there, lived there or just went to a game?

Like your family is all a fan of one team but you ended up being a fan of another for whatever reason.

Probably would be people who ended up going to a different school.

Personally, some of my earliest memories in life were about Alabama football.

My nephew is somehow an Auburn fan. Good kid otherwise.

I bet it’s pretty coming for Auburn fans to grow up either tide or dawg fans. Or at least grow up in families that are fans of those teams.

I’m a UNC fan because I had family there and lived there for the first several years of my life.

Then I became a UGA fan because we moved to Georgia and most of my family went there.

Then I had an identity crisis this year because I was worried I might not get into Georgia and have to go to another school. I tried to care less about football because I might not make it in.

But then I got into Georgia so now I have nothing to worry about.

Grew up in Gainesville FL, loved gators. But went to Alabama.. brother did too. Some family still live in Gainesville so family is split with Florida faction and Alabama. We are all in agreement on the truly important things though...

...frick Auburn and frick Tennessee.

For vandy , I’d think many students and alumni are fans of both vandy and another team due to vandy never making it tough to choose a side.

It took an athletic scholarship to buy my loyalty.

I grew up a UGA fan and most of my family and their friends (from Georgia) are UGA fans.

I went to Clemson, so week 1 will be a very interesting one.

I have zero barners on my side of the family. It's awesome. We were all raised right.

I was raised in Florida and Georgia, but mostly Georgia. I knew right away UGA fans were all delusional. Listening to UGA sports talk as a kid was a delite. Laughing at their preseason championships every year was a gas. It's EVERY...SINGLE...YEAR.

I have a cousin whose Dad was Auburn grad and she grew up one too. Went to Bama for a while and still pulled for Auburn, and still does. This is pretty common here. Being fans of the teams we grew up pulling for even when attending a rival school.

I bet you see this often. That’s what makes the iron bowl even more interesting. Students at each school who are actually fans of the other team.

Yes it does happen a lot. I think it is more of who our fathers pulled for that shaped up when we were young. You know on the playground picking a side and it isn't easy to just switch after growing up on one side.
