Bjork knew what was happening. That's why he was at Media Days.

He 100% knew. I imagine all this crawfishing now is that they did not expect the amount of laughter they’d receive from the rest of the league. I’m assuming he thought they’d have support in their attempt to foil Texas but that clearly never materialized so here we are with them acting now like they didn’t know.

Ultimately A&M bent the knee to Sankey. They had no choice.

Sure, sure.

The posts on the Aggie board urging all of you to "settle down" and "get it together" are GOLD.

The Aggies, multiple A&M insiders have revealed in recent days, learned a valuable lesson from the past week, and it will serve as a three-word mantra moving forward: “Trust no one.”

A&M, the insiders offered, was blindsided by Wednesday’s bombshell news that UT and OU intend to exit the Big 12 and enter the SEC. Whether that’s as early as 2022 or as late as 2025 is to be determined.

Yet when you read other articles on the subject (Saturday Down South Link) you find nuggets like this:
quote:

Bjork struck a similar tone.

“The SEC is in position to lead. The college athletics landscape is changing and evolving. We know other people are interested in joining. That’s not surprising. We feel in the state of Texas we paved the way for that. We’re (A&M) stronger than we’ve ever been. We have over 550,000 former students. We’re on the cusp of the CFP. We have Olympians. Our women are basketball champions. We knew this day (Texas and OU joining SEC) could happen and probably would happen. We’re surprised at speed of it.”

It sure seems like the goalposts are being moved from “nobody told A&M about any discussions with Texas and Oklahoma” to “well we knew there were discussions, but we didn’t think it would happen so fast.”

If the latter is accurate, it sure makes Bjork’s previous comments look pretty damned disingenuous.

What was the breach of trust? I've heard the myth that there was some kind of "gentlemen's agreement," that the SEC wouldn't admit another school in A&M's home state.

Such an agreement never existed in written word and if it existed in spoken word, TAMU reached a whole new level of audacity and arrogance (and stupidity and naivety) in thinking the SEC would give them special benefits and assurances that Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and the Mississippi schools don't also enjoy.

Never happened.

The biggest. I was told it was the number 1 criteria when they were looking for their last football coach. Jimbo was a homerun hire.

Remember now,

Aggies don't lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate those who do.

Right, Creed Ags?
