Is there ever a bad time for a MPatHG reference?

I thought it was great as well. Seems genuinely humble and remembers where he came from and what it took for him to win.

He looked so average when we played him

I'm guessin' your D didn't think so...y'all only allowed 3 100+ yard rushers this year and DH2 rushed for more yardage against y'all than anyone else y'all faced this year...

I'm an LSU homer, but it creeps me out by how turned on I am by the pregnant chick in the first photo.

Glad it's not just me...and that someone else will admit it.

And,

Derrick Henry Very deserving. I hope he's as good of a kid as he seems to be. And to him mentioning Altee Tenpenny.

I remember media types running him down for "a subpar performance against Charleston Southern" and some assgasket saying he did nothing against ULM....how stupid can you be?

We are going to win those games with or without him. The damn pros rest people all the time. Had they run him 40 times in those games he might get 300 but he might get hurt in a meaningless game too.

Not to mention he didn't get some carries vs CS because Cyrus Jones kept running back their punts to the house.

First off I'll have to admit the Heisman means very little to me and hasn't in years. Can't even tell you who won last year. With that said, they really, really, really dropped the ball when they didn't make it possible for Reynolds from the Naval Academy to be part of the festivities. It was a tremendous chance to inject a little national pride and to promote the service academies. It was all quite baffling.

The invites are based off of votes. He didn't get enough votes for an invite. They can't do anything about that short of telling people who to vote for...which would ruin the spirit of the whole thing.

No need to do that.

Please allow me to share my strong opinion about something I don't care about in the least.

Can see them letting the Navy guy attend.......then all the PC folks crying because others weren't awarded the same opportunity in past years.

They cut it off as not to have some guy sitting there all week, thinking he has a shot, then come announcement time, revealing he only got 300 or 400 points.

Would have loved to see him there, provided his vote count warranted it. It did not, so they didn't invite him.

This. It's bad enough that the two of the legitimate contenders had to sit through the entire boring-arse, horrible presentation show -- hoping like hell they're about to win -- only to have their dreams dashed in the final ten minutes.

When was the last time a white running back won the Heisman?

I'm guessing Penn State back in the 70s without looking at other replies.

It was ...

Are you thinking about a guy named John ?Cappaleti(?)...I was thinking Ed Marinaro probably.

Pretty sure Watson knew he wasn't going to win. He didn't look nervous at all. No prediction out there that I saw said he would win, and you gotta assume these guys are looking at, or hearing about, the same stuff on internet that we see (albeit probably less frequently as they have very little free time).

McCaffrey, on the other hand, probably thought he had a shot. He moved up to first in the ESPN poll, and seemed like a lot of people were arguing for him to win.
