What the frick? Screw this a-hole. He's a fraud and there are much more deserving people.

Other notable coaches on the ballot include Larry Coker and Tommy Tuberville.

Why is Fran on the ballot?

The CFB Hall of Fame is like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Franchione is like Madonna being inducted into the RnR Hall of Fame.

It's the CFB HOF, not the FBS or SEC HOF.

He coached a Kansas JUCO for two seasons with a second-place and a first-place finish in its conference, respectively.

He took Pittsburg State to the NAIA playoffs six out of six seasons and then to the D-II playoffs in his only D-II season.

He got New Mexico to a bowl game.

He took TCU to a bowl game all three seasons, winning the conference twice.

All of the above was before his time at Bama and A&M.

The guy actually had losing records at New Mexico and Texas State.

The only real positive to his career is his TCU stint, and while that stint was good, it only lasted for 3 years and hardly seems like something that by itself should get him into the Hall of Fame.

There is more to college football than FBS.

I agree there is more than FBS, but any coach who loses 0-77 at any level is not HOF worthy in my opinion. That was what he’s remembered for. It’s not like he was dominant outside of that. He sucked.

Tommy Tuberville.

Tommy Turdholeville milked a good season into a career. Hell, into a political career! He loves Alabama so much he lives in Florida.

When he wasn't gifted into a top 20 job he's an average coach at best.

Now, for the record, Dennis Franchione is pretty much garbage as well. Coker isn't hall of fame either but did a fairly decent job. This is a turd sandwich group.

I dont understand why people are acting like Dennis Franchione being on the HOF ballot is some kind of controversy. Iowa’s gonna say it: put him in. Call me corny. Guy won everywhere he went, took over programs nobody wanted and for all intensive purposes had half a doesn’t rebuilding jobs in one career. Thats unpresidented. And this is a school with an actual Bush library.

And spare me the A&M people who are already hyperventilating about it. I dont even know if Franchione’s name is supposed to be hyperventilated on the ballot but either way take a breath. Allot of you are just looking for an escape goat because things didnt end the way you wanted. I eluded to this years ago and there were signs then too. You can hate the guy and still admit he could coach football. Two things can be true at the same time, look it up.

The ballot should probably be ominous anyway so we dont know which voters are holding grudges. But if you leave Franchione out because a bunch of message bored historians want to pylon him 20 years later then the whole thing is conical. Just going around in circles. Put the man in and move on.
