Nobody wins in this except the lawyers. If you guys wanted to kill most of them I think that's something we could all agree with.

Seems like everyone is on board with using the courts, no? Or is it that some entities should be able to use the courts, but others should be barred from it?

“They’re just trying to enforce their own rules”. Nah, they’re looking to become judge, jury and executioner. No member should want this, but they can’t see past their desire to punish LsU and Kiffin to realize what they’re actually supporting.
I agree with this.
And, it easily could end up in a class action lawsuit against the conference that could cost its member institution billions.
This is just another attempt to be able to grab a larger portion of the revenue than would otherwise be available if it were fairly bargained. Frankly, it's completely tone deaf after seeing the courts rape the NCAA over the last few years.

The SEC is trying to step up and say “let us do what the NCAA was doing” when the NCAA has been brought to its knees across the country because what they were doing was bullshite.

I am an LSU alum and SEC dominance has always made me proud. Unfortunately, the current state of affairs has made divorce imminent. LSU fans will miss the great matchups, but the time is right to exit. LSU will remain silent and offer zero push back tomorrow , as the monetary offers they have been presented are insane.

Of course, that was after his public comments along the lines of, “if we don’t, someone else will.” And then fully acknowledging how they were being perceived and referring to themselves in the 3rd person as a “villain,” attempting to use it as motivation on a football facility wall.

While true, this has REAL risk of liability.
The SEC is forcing its members (LSU being the test case) to ignore court orders and act in an anti-competitive manner to the detriment of a class of players deemed by a court.
A pretty good case could be made that the SEC isn't even acting on its own...but is just acting as the most powerful arm of the NCAA. If the SEC signs a huge TV deal, and is now the entity that makes/enforces rules of the game, is it not a huge target for a class action suit?
