FWIW everyone knows the current financial model of college sports is not sustainable without major changes in revenue and costs. What was free “plantation labor” is now being compensated at huge expense.

I don’t think that comment about your school is directed at everyone. A lot of us are handling our expenses just fine. Our AD was literally hired bc he had a plan to make this era sustainable without begging donors.

Kyle Field brought to you by Brawndo - the Thirst Mutilator!

That and your uniforms are about to look like a NASCAR vehicle.

Completely indensible, should be illegal.

Explain. The Big1G and Utah didn’t think it should be illegal. What law does it violate?

"Let me be clear, this is not an ask for money."

They will absolutely be asking for money.

Eventually some top programs will be weeded out, and others will climb. It’s not all going to crash bc a few top programs can’t adjust to spending or need to spend money to be or stay competitive. Georgia, for example, is doing just fine selling recruits on a path to the NFL instead of spending money beyond their means on transfers or recruits.

Here is an interesting fact for you...

Huey P. Long attended law school at OU and flunked out...

He blamed it on the wild living he did while in Norman.

You all never knew that Norman was a den of iniquity I bet.

It’s unsustainable for the sport and P4 schools - I foresee a point where Universities break away and create a traditional CFB remake though.

You’re naive and fooling yourself. Everyone’s athletic department took a direct 20% hit to their bottom line. You’ve got one of the top 3 classes right now. They’re not coming to aTm because of male yell leaders. Your donors are ponying up plenty of cash for recruits.
