All this has done is create superteams. You'll have a top group of 5 or so schools with boatloads of money to buy their team. Rinse and repeat year after year.

The lower tiered schools won't be able to compete. More college athletes will opt to move out of their home state to get paid more $$.

It's disgusting what it's become

I concur.
But about most sports. The love of money is ruining it.
Be nice to watch people play that just love the game, money aside.

This post is perfect for any Bama or GA fan. Of course those teams hate NIL! You had your own private, under the table NIL program that was insanely successful. But now that the playing field is becoming level. Your team don't seem to look nearly as good?

UGA has 2 rings since NIL was implemented. How is that worse than before?

Bama, but we will 100% be able to outpace you in spending over the long haul.

Did you not realize that Saban hung it up primarily because he was saddled with the Learfield deal?

Would it surprise you to learn that most of key individuals on this staff are from Texas?

The staff size and salaries are larger compared to other collectives.

Bama is saddled with this deal for another decade while the Bama admins who pushed this have made out like bandits.

You really think that your current condition is commensurately competitive?

Meanwhile, Bjork has been texting his friends how much OSU would be willing to pay Williams.

But please continue acting as if Ole Miss has really ever been relevant

Hold on now, Ole Miss has indeed been relevant. Back when Johnny Vaught was the head coach. You know, during the JFK administration.

Oh poor baby Alabama isn’t as good anymore because other teams can pay players and not horde 5*’s for the price of a couple dodge chargers

Of course the dickless Mississippians are triggered by even the slightest NIL criticism as no player wants to play for their trash community college otherwise...

"Muh Dodge Chargers"... well, sister, even before Brother Hugh came along, your two star players weren't driving around in 1975 pickup trucks like most of your fans...

While most other schools, the great majority, LOVE IT! Funny how that works. Kinda like all the wealth in American was released from the top 0.5%.

I’ll keep watching, and hope Bama pulls something out of this 12 team system. But CFB is dying a painful death, and it’s going to get uglier.

I couldn't agree with you more. I still watch and I still care but the losses don't bother me as much as they used to. Most of these players could care less which uniform they put on every Saturday. They are just in it for the money.

NIL represents everything in society. Its all backwards and upside down. Good is bad, bad is good. We live in Bizarro world.

I've actually enjoyed watching our high school team more this year. I hope college football gets a reset at some point, but I don't think it will be for a while

Bama can’t stockpile 5* players anymore. Fans continue to take it hard.

Yeah, because Bama fans are the only fans in college that oppose the NIL and portal system.

Are Ole Miss fans really penciling themselves into the playoffs already?

I've majorly lost interest. I still watch the SEC games and a few of the big non SEC games but I don't follow or think about college football at all anymore outside of Saturday's in the fall.

watch a bunch of Bama students go up against a bunch of Auburn or LSU students.

The Ivy League has the best conference in college football now. Traditions going back over a century remain undisturbed and the athletes are all students first. No go daddy bowls or neutral site games designed to cram as many commercials in as possible. With streaming you can watch all the games too.

Agreed. It will never happen, but I think it would be an interesting alternate universe where scholarships can only be allotted to in-state athletes.

Man if only there were football teams that didn't have NIL or all these other benefits and just played for the love of their school.

Oh wait there is. It's Division II and III, but not many people care about it because it's not very high level of talent.

All this crying about kids no longer playing for the love of the school is crap fans say to make themselves feel better. shite Nil wouldn't even be a thing if fans didn't obsess over making sure they get the best recruiting class each year.
