Debunking the University of Mississippi's NOA Response

1. The University of Mississippi claims that these are rogue boosters. If the boosters are rogue, then why has the University not released their names.
2. The University of Mississippi has been compliant with the NCAA by firing Barney Farrar and his "scheme". If you were so proactive why did it take 6 months from May of 2016 to December of 2016 to fire him?
3. Either Hugh Freeze is unaware of the allegations. Which does not excuse him from it as he is being paid close to 5 Million Dollars. Or he is lying. If they are lying to the NCAA, oof.
4. Using a GIF for the purposes of identifyig Student Athlete 39 could be a FERPA Violation. This could result in even more trouble with Mississippi on the academic side of things.
5. The term is "student athlete 39". Due note that means there are at least 38 other student athletes.
6. The fact that the Head Coach, the Chancellor, and the Athletic Director is still employed means that they are all into this together. ANd they will fall mightly together. Once the boosters took over Mississippi back in 2011, the amount of cheating that happened was unlimited.
7. Finally while I will not go through tyhe entire document let me be clear on this. We are about to see the most severe punishment in 30 years. The biggest punishment is something that the NCAA will not even hand them. $$$ THe amount of money spent on this case by the University to actively delay and stall shows how "transparent" this university is. They are going to lose postseason revenue from football. The sport that ends up making a lot of SEC Schools operate. This will affect their entire university. From their students to their athletes.
So let me ask you fans of Mississippi. Was it and is it worth destroying your football program to cheat excessively to only end up with a coach that has a 19-21 record in the SEC?

At first I didn't like this thread. Then I saw the pics and gifs and chuckled rather extensively.

Mississippi is the most corrupt state in the union.
None of this should surprise anybody.

1. They are threatening lawsuits so we don't want that
2. He was placed on administrative leave until his contract ran out
3. So freeze might have known or might not. Excellent work detective
4. What does that even mean
5. Numbers include witnesses too but you're on a roll keep going
6. Hot take alert

I'm sure everyone on tRant will hate/ignore this post, but a few points:
1) Releasing the names of the rouge boosters gets yourself into real legal trouble. You know what makes NCAA trouble even worse... actual lawsuits from pissed of millionaire boosters who can hire real good lawyers.
2) Same reason is took Auburn a "bad season" to fire Gene after the Cam Newton mess...
3) Hugh should be in a lot of trouble. If this really goes south, I cannot imagine him keeping his job.
4) Probably, but FERPA is rarely ever actually used and is pretty easy to get around.
5) At least 38 other student-athletes interviewed.
6) Head Coach and AD, yes. Chancellor was hired after all of this was beginning to break. Chancellor isn't a sports guy, he probably has no idea what's actually going on. But if he get's fired, so be it. He was a pure political hire anyways and is in over his head overall.
7) Yeah the NCAA punishment won't be "that bad" (Worse then what Ole Miss fans thing, not as bad as other fans expect). But yeah, in terms of recruiting, money, etc. our football program is being set back YEARS.

I can debunk it much easier.
1. Ole Miss got a number 1 ranked recruit.

This will be interesting as the State Ethics Commission seems poised to find that Ole Miss has a legal responsibility to disclose the names and that the public interest outweighs the privacy concerns of the individual boosters.
LINK
I will be very surprised if a court ultimately decides a booster has a right or expectation of privacy regarding disclosure of his identity while being involved in recruiting players for a public university, especially if there are allegations, and admissions, by the university of misconduct by the booster. Ultimately the public interest is likely to prevail, and there will be no recognition of the boosters' claims of invasion of privacy. I really don't care who the lawyers are or how much they are paid. This is a pretty straightforward legal issue, and not particularly complex or difficult.

A student has privacy rights under FERPA, but no real redress for a violation. The student can complain to the U.S. Department of Education, which can investigate and reprimand the school if a violation has been found. Unless the problem is really pervasive and serious, the school will suffer no real consequences if it takes the appropriate and recommended actions, usually by better implementation of privacy protection policies and procedures. If the violations are really serious and the school fails to correct the problem, federal funds can be withheld. But there is no private right of action against the school under FERPA.

I never noticed how much SMU and Ole Miss have in common.
Their colors are similar.
Their jerseys are similar.
Their logos are similar.
Their "tailgates" are similar

God damn! These fricking rebtards in here still can't admit they are fricked. They honestly believe that somehow their "mighty lawyerin skills is gunna save them".
Hint: lawyers mean jack shite to the NCAA. They can legally dish out any punishment they choose for any reason they choose. Deal!

Well, you can't blame them. They saw Auburn pay Cam and get away with it, so they're hoping they get the same.
