Arkansas fans in the midst of their greatest run ever, are worrying about the A&M job. It’s very telling.

We've had the #1 seed and SEC locked up and don't play until tomorrow. We are looked to for leadership and guidance by many in the sport, and have the bandwidth to spare

People said the same thing about us firing Nutt to be fair, and then Petrino went 21-5 in two seasons so anything can happen. But A&M does seem to think they’re better than they are at a lot of sports for some reason.

Childress’s contract expired.

His performance of late didn’t warrant a re-negotiation of terms.
It has/had nothing to do with “thinking we’re better than we are;” the time was right to make a change.
I know of few (any?) programs who would’ve made a different decision.

This entire thread is odd.
I respect the heck outta Arkansas Athletics and wouldn’t question any decisions y’all’s AD made about what was in the best interest of your university.
Not sure why this topic is of much interest to anyone outside of the TAMU community.

I won’t hate on them for that. That’s what it takes in the SEC. I’d probably be bitter if Childress was a close friend or family member but that’s the business.

That’s 6 CWS appearances dumbass

DVH also took Nebraska to the CWS twice. He's had a team in Omaha 8 times. Pretty damn good if you ask me.

Good luck to Aggy fans. Several of them are solid baseball fans and are just hoping to see the program turn around. We can all understand that. Of course, we also would rather see them continue to suck. SEC is hard enough already.

Childress was an assistant, a very good one, under DVH at Nebraska before Dave came to Arkansas. They had a good bit of success there.

Looking at what Childress has done with an also ran program like aggie it boggles the mind that they cut him loose.

But he will be better off leaving and will most likely land at a better spot.

DVH is good. He’s done it a long time. He’s not what we’re looking for, sorry.

DVH has had Arkansas ranked #1 for 13 straight weeks. Won all 10 conference series this year.

3 CWS trips in 17 years. The very RC like.
Yet one of those years Dave Van Horn's team won four games in Omaha. Which is more than A&M's history.

So I guess that's RC like. And everything all other A&M coaches combined like since it's more than the aggies have accomplished in their program's entirety.

Like I said, good isn’t good enough.
RC may have been A&M's best ever all things considered. So if that wasn't good enough, I have no idea where you are getting your expectations from.

DVH is a good coach. He is friends with Childress so I'm not surprised by his statements. DVH is a MUCH better coach than Childress. A&M is going to try its luck after things had just become "stale" with Childress. The man wasn't recruiting the talent to compete, and he's had no offensive strategy since Deggs left.

Honestly, if we strike out on everyone else I'd give Deggs a shot. But we aren't going to get that far down the list ...
