God damn we have multiple career/season every week across the entire sport.
You are correct, which is why fewer and fewer young people are playing it. But injuries to one player don't endanger an entire large segment of the population like COVID-19. One person gets infected and comes into contact with hundreds of people, and hundreds get infected. Yes, younger people survive but what are the long term health effects for all those people.
I have often heard well in 1918 during that Flu Pandemic, College football was played. True. However, the 1918 flu pandemic killed almost 700,000 Americans and it actually lowered the life expectancy of the US population by 10 to 15 years. It wasn't until 20 years later that a vaccine was developed, must of it was given to the 16,000,000 men who fought WW2 and it wasn't until after WW2 that vaccines were given to the masses. I think there were college ball players who died

They should go look up the mortality rate for those under the age of 22. Then, they should analyze those numbers further to include members of that age group in the physical shape of college football players. Then, they should report that mortality rate along with their decision.

So hilarious now they want medical opinions on if football is safe....lol
Covid way safer for a 18-22 year old than football

I was assured in the other thread the liberal sports media didn't want to shut down CFB. Yet, Darren Rovell....

The 1918 Spanish Flu was especially bad for those aged 18-25. The healthier the immune system of the infected the worse it attacked that virus, often killing the person in the process. COVID is exactly the opposite. There are virtually no fatalities in that age group. More have died in car accidents in 2020.

It’ll all depend on the election.. Biden wins we’re shut down for next 4 years

Sure they have, buddy. Meanwhile, we average roughly the same number of deaths per day from all causes in 2020 as we did in 2019 before Covid 19 was a thing. You don't find that the least bit suspicious?

It was irresponsible for anything to even think about being open between 1918 and now when H1N1 cases are still recorded

What are the hospitalization rates for healthy elite athlete 18-22 year olds?

The sports media that is breathless to announce the season is cancelled ought to understand they are looking at unemployment.
Got to be rough going from being an ESPN bigshot to $400/week unemployment.

Exactly. I WILL NOT live my life in fear. I work with Covid patients and am at higher risk than most of this board. I still show up to work. I don’t get to negotiate my pay. This is utter and complete nonsense. I supposed the cowards of our society will just stay shut in doors every time a new virus is introduced to society. What a bunch of cowards.
