They should easily have Illinois spot. I have no frigging idea how that shite program got to top 10. That made no sense at all.

Feels like State should be in the 22-25 range.
Since 2000, only one other SEC team has started 4-0 without being ranked - 2013 Missouri. They finished 12-2 and ranked No. 5 in the country.
Here's a Venn diagram with the 4-0 teams and the teams that are undefeated ATS. You want to know how idiotic most sports pundits are? I heard a guy use this metric as why Texas Tech should "be in the top five" then say Mississippi State has not done anything worthy of being ranked.
Texas Tech has one good win over a top 16 Big 12 team (State has that as well) Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Kent State and Oregon State are worse than Alcorn, NIU and USM.

State should take it out on their next opponent. Show no mercy.

I’m always shaking my head that the Arizona teams don’t have awesome big time college sports. The weather is perfect year round, Phoenix and Las Vegas have large metro areas and they don’t have to deal with the nut jobs in California. It’s weird

Definitely truth to this. Ive always said that if I had to pick a team that hasn';t won a title in 10 years to win a national championship, it would be Florida State. If I had to build a dynasty from an underperformer, it would be one of the Arizona schools.

I would think that it's a chip on the shoulder.

State wins its SEC games, and the rankings take care of themselves. Still much to prove, just like my Tigers. But the Tigers have had a smaller hill to climb than State after the disaster of last year.

I'm more interested in what the local strip club will have the girls wrasslin' in this time. Last week was gravy and biscuits to celebrate going 3-0.

That illinois game wasn’t just a loss. That was one of the worst beatdowns I’ve ever seen between two ranked conference teams. I’m shocked that a game like that could end up 63-10. The only thing that comes to mind was that time Auburn randomly beat a ranked Arkansas team 56-3 in 2016 when both were decent.

If they win this weekend, they'll be ranked.

We are okay not being ranked. After the last two years, 4-0 feels good. We are enjoying that for the moment. Sets up a big game with Tennessee (who is really good) Saturday in DWS. Should be an electric atmosphere. And though we are improved we are not at the top level yet. We will be competitive and winning the game is not out of the question. Ranked #26 right now is just fine.

We are underdogs in all 8 SEC games left on the schedule, but we are definitely on the right track.
