Dammit! I guess we'll never get him back on the sidelines in College Station.

I would say he retired from coaching the moment he signed his new contract as the plane left Tuscaloosa. Seemed like he was never worth a damn after that.

Coaches don't generally bounce back well after losing games 77-0 that could have easily been 100-0.

Reggie McNeal and Stephen McGee were a lot of fun to watch when he was coaching

He ruined both of them by shoehorning them into option offenses.

Thanks for 31-7, winning the West in 02, ending the losing streak against UT, and the 10-win season.

And it had such a happy ending!

Fran started this hokey "The School Down the Road" childish banter where he wouldn't mention Auburn's name. To his credit, Bama whipped us 31-7 at JHS in 2001, but I don't think I've ever relished an Iron Bowl victory more than 2002 when AU went into Tuscaloosa with a converted TE for a FB, a 4th-string true freshman white tailback and whipped Fran's mouthy arse 17-7. It was 17-0 most of the game and the game wasn't even that close. Frick Fran. He's a douche.
