Congrats to all Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Kentucky fans on this achievement heading into the season. Big 5.

Teams not listed need to step their games up tbh. Inexcusable to ever be unranked.

The last college football poll Alabama was unranked in was the final poll of 2007, right? What a load of shite - should have been ranked after our big win over the Colorado Buffalos in the college football shrine of Shreveport, LA.

I would not want to be an Alabama fan here when the streak ends, it will get biblical here. Like UT losing to Notre Dame bad.

for what it's worth, as impressive as bama's run has been, they still have quite a long way to go to catch Nebraska for the all time record:

I was confused for a moment thinking "when weren't we ranked in 2017"... but then realized we weren't ranked at the end of 2016. We fell out week 6 that year.

Wasn't OU on a really long streak until they got bumped out for one week in 2020 (promptly to return to the poll the next week)?

OU has had a bunch of several year streaks past couple decades but they always trip over their dicks eventually and ruin it.

They were ranked for 88 weeks from 2000-2005, then 60 weeks from 2005-2009, then 76 weeks from 2010 to 2014, then 64 weeks from 2016-2020.

It's like clockwork.

Nice to see a pic of Orlando Mccain. I'd forgotten about him.

Alabama was unranked for 1 week in 1976; without that blip that streak run from 1971 to 1982 - putting it roughly around #8 on that list.

To match Nebraska we need 118 more weeks, with 15 polls per year, so ranked non-stop for nearly another 8 years (and passing Nebraska if the Tide hits a full 8 years with a total 350 straight weeks)

I would take about 8 more seasons to match Nebraska’s run.

Not sure what role it would have played, but the AP poll didn’t expand to a Top 25 until 1989.

Edit: Helped Nebraska’s run. They finished #24 in 1990.

You have a link? Ohio State hasn't lost more than 2 games in a dozen seasons. There's no way their streak is that short.

Ah, looks like Kevin Warren fricked us on that one in 2020 before play began late in the B1G.

Ohio State was 6-7 in 2011. Why do you think their streak should be longer?

Because the listed streak began in 2020. It's because of Kevin Warren. It would go back to 2012 if not for that arse-hat.

I see what you’re referencing now. The AP removed those teams the first few weeks. I had forgotten that.

Bama was ranked 79 weeks from 71-76, unranked for a week after they lost to Georgia, and then ranked again for 95 weeks from 76-82.

Hypothetically, if they had remained ranked the streak would have been for a total of 175 weeks, which briefly would have surpassed Michigan for the longest streak of all time after they dropped out of the pools in the 1980 season. Today it would be good enough for the 5th longest streak of all time.

But that happened. Take it up with Kevin Warren.
