How many of those sports exist because the govt forced them onto universities? People didn't care enough about them to actually have them until they were forced.
Most NCAA sports are also Olympic sports.
And despite not being fan favorites, they're fun to actually compete in. They exist for the athletes, not for spectators.

If you put OU and Texass in as well the SEC is even more dominant.

After OU and Texas join the SEC...will they form an SEC Women's Rowing Group? Current members of the Big-12 Conference Rowing Group are:
Alabama
Kansas
Kansas St.
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Texas
WVU
After OU and Texas move...4 of the 7 teams in the Big-12 Rowing group will actually be SEC schools.

Former big 12 school. Why is college wrestling not a thing in the South? Sucks that my kids will have to go north or west if they want to keep competing after high school.

Probably, and I'd hope that UF adds the sport. Seems like an easy add for us and gets us closer to being able to add another men's sport.

Yeah, that would be my guess. It's where the club and youth teams train/compete. Then down the road Sarasota is going to be a frequent host of the NCAA Championships.
