I believe being Blue Blood entails you being good for more than just the last 20 or so yrs . History & Tradition in being in the top 5-10 for multiple , multiple decades

Serious question
What makes Georgia a blue blood program?
The fact it will be their fans who read the article and post it all over the fricking place giving the website more traffic because the actual blue bloods could care less about being listed.

Georgia isn’t a blueblood. They’re a Johnny come lately. So are LSU and Florida. Outside the last 20 years they haven’t done much. Before OU joined there was one blueblood in the SEC and that name was Bama.

Rational people all know the SEC now has 2 blue bloods.
Alabama
Oklahoma
And several top 10-15 programs historically.

Oregon (and Phil Knight) are TRYING to buy blue blood status.
During the 1970s when Alabama, OU, ND, Nebraska, all won two NCs (SC and PItt each had one), Oregon lost its two games to OU by 68-2 and 62-7.
All manner of historical winning can be considered, but a team better be good since WWII or it is Harvard, Yale, Princeton or the closest Minn.

I'd say Bama, OU, and Texas for sure. But if you want to have 10 instead of 8 then UGA has an argument based on being top 10 in wins now.
Posted on 7/11/24 at 9:19 pm to jcolding41
there is only one true blue blood in the SEC.

It upset them more when we brought it up.
Now they are still fighting for attention and relevance because they hate that no one cares about their two championships.
Sort of like Clemson.
