I played college ball and have been a HS coach for the last 24 years. I love the game but most people , Especially youngsters today , don’t want to sit for 3 hours and watch a low scoring boring game . It’s just the way it is

I can’t tolerate baseball in any form or fashion.

Well you should find another thread then dick skinner

So far from this thread I have learned the most persuasive reason to use a wooden bat is the noise it makes.

That is an easy answer, but IMO the most important thing is that aluminum bats unintentionally teach lazy fundamentals because less than stellar swings can still produce hits from the larger sweet spot and lighter weight. With a wood bat you are going to get a lot more unpleasant vibrational feedback from not hitting the ball properly as well as the ball simply not doing anything other than little grounders or pop ups. Using a wood bat makes hitters better and more disciplined.

This but literally. I'm pretty sure one of the main reasons they don't use wood is because of the additional cost of having to replace broken bats
For fricks sake, this isn't 1975.
Not that I'm in favor of wooden bats but replacing broken bats would be a freakin drop in the bucket for almost every big time college baseball program.

This.
I go to Cape Cod league games every Summer and the games aren't what you see in normal college baseball and those guys are the best college ball players from around the country.
Lots of low scoring games.

I think that’s the point. There are some programs that could easily switch, but the vast majority of baseball programs aren’t profitable and that would be another expense.
I personally don’t mind the bats. They’re not the old aluminum bats of old and have been deadened a great deal.

I want 90 s bats
To the fricking moon! Punch a hole in a pitcher.

Yes. A modern -3 BB cor bat is no lighter, nor does it have any more pop than a wood bat. It does have a slightly more forgiving sweet spot.

They use them in cape
The bottom of lineups in college would really struggle
Your offense would have to come from the middle which most teams would pitch around
Back when they had those awful bbcor bats I know most college kids preferred wood bats

I don’t think it’s that expensive to switch.

They need to bring back those 90s bats where almost anyone who can get good contact can hit a home run.
Yes, they may kill someone fielding due to the extreme exit velocity of the hit but dingers w/o steroids y’all.

There is no good reason to do that right now.
