He has done a great job up there. Probably would be an idiotic move on his part to leave an NFL coaching job for college at this point but if mama calls with a bag of cash, he could be tempted

NFL coaching is easy street compared to CFB.

His name has been tossed around behind the scenes for a few years now.

It’s interesting to watch the ensuing discussions (on social media groups) whenever it comes up.
He’s a much loved son, but Ags are all over the board when it comes to opinions on hiring him.

I’d be all for it.
But no one is going to ask me.

Can he connect with the weak arse HS athletes?

Dude is hard core and I would run through a brick wall for him. That shite works in the NFL. But may not connect with todays college athletes.

I’m not exactly sure.

I think it’s more an issue that most assume (correctly) that Dan has a chance to become a god in Detroit than it is an indictment against Campbell.
Leaving the NFL to deal the NIL, recruiting, etc? That’s a tough sell.

The same convos are regularly had about Dennis Allen.

We’ll see.
Should be an interesting search.

Why would he want to downgrade to AtM?

It would be a crazy move, for sure.
Most reasons (on Dan’s part) would likely be nostalgic in nature (i.e., him being an adored native son in Aggieland).

If he was looking to bounce from the NFL, A&M makes as much sense as any program.
But I’d be surprised if he’s ready to turn in his NFL clipboard at this juncture.

He wouldn’t be the first coach who wanted to go “home.”
You can’t underestimate that pull.

Never heard of him and would probably be a disaster move on a&m part. College and NFL head coaching is vastly different. Head coach has much less control in NFL than college. There's been some really mediocre coaches win super bowls.

He'd be better than Kingsbury.

Not sure if he'll make the jump without A&M selling a few oil refineries or something to pay for his salary tho.

Personally I can think of at least a hundred reasons why I'd want out of Detroit.

Read that question again and it becomes obvious

I get what you’re saying though

Yeah, I’m not a fan of that move either.
Just saying the convos are similar and often occur as a dyad.
