Burrow's was boring too. Both QBs had 1st round NFL receivers to throw the ball to.

OP has a valid point. Burrow was barely better than the competition, and truth be told, he only received more hype. They 83% vote total for BY proved he was far and away the only deserving candidate.

Nice try IDVague. Burrow won by the LARGEST MARGIN IN HISTORY and got over 90% of the vote. His competition was better AND he still smoked them by a larger margin.

Heck I’ll even say that Young is the weakest Heisman winner of the last 4 Bama Heismans. Derrick Henry, Mark Ingram, Devonta Smith were all much better/dominant during their runs. It took one shitty, unprepared UGA team to make BY look good to get all those votes right at the end. He was never a lock down prior to that.

He was the betting favorite for virtually the entire season after week one. The only time he fell off as a favorite was the week C.J. Stroud lit up Michigan State. Ironically enough, that same week Bryce Young set a school record for most passing yards in a game against Arkansas.

I don’t know about Stroud since he is a Freshman but Young, Pickett and Hutchinson are projected high 1st rounders. Seeing that the 2019 finalist had 3 first rounders (Hurts being late 2nd), how exactly is the 2019 class so much stronger? Other than the obvious homer reasons.

I mean, shite, I think Hutchinson is projected to go #1 in the 2022 draft and Young is projected to go #1 in the 2023 draft.

Justin Fields was basically exactly what Stroud is this year

Not even close. Fields was undefeated at the time of the Heisman ceremony. Stop comparing this years class to that one. It’s not even close.

Congratulations Bryce! You’ve had an excellent season and have done very well. Your offensive line coach should apologize to you.

31 should have gotten an invitation …..At least that would have been some competition…..

Fields was also a sophomore whereas Stroud is a freshman.

This was one of the weakest and uninteresting group of Heisman finalists that I can remember in recent history. Had barely even heard of Huthcinson and Pickett…and Stroud is definitely not the star like some of the other OSU QBs we’ve seen in the past. Weak competition. Compare to Joe Burrow’s class: Chase Young, Justin Fields, Jalen Hurts. All freaking studs.

Hahahaha you’re broken.

Translation:

"My guy won the Heisman by a bigger margin than YOUR guy won the Heisman, even though BOTH of them won by HUGE amounts."

Even though both guys won the Heisman going away. THIS is the best argument you could come up with? Really?

Will both have better pro careers than Bryce Young. He’s too small.

In what world was that an exciting year when Burrow had wrapped up the award quite easily and weeks before the ceremony? He absolutely deserved it. But a race isn’t exciting when you know well in advance who’s going to win it. That goes for every year, including this one, in which the winner easily won the award.

People have also been saying the Heisman has lost its luster for years now. ESPN’s 1hr long cringe fest of a ceremony doesn’t help
