2019 LSU led in offensive experience and overall playmakers. Burrow was 23 and a 5th year player.

The 2019 LSU offense had two 1st round WRs, one 2nd round WR, a 1st round RB and their OL won the Moore Award.

Joe Burrow fricking sucks without that surrounding talent. It's no surprise he leads the NFL in interceptions with 14.

That's a STRETCH.

BUT, the comparison of Bryce to Burrow is telling given the full context, which goes way beyond a marginal advantage in SOS for LSU. That was my point

OP has a valid point. Burrow was barely better than the competition, and truth be told, he only received more hype. They 83% vote total for BY proved he was far and away the only deserving candidate

Burrow had 94% vs alot better group

Don't tell me . . .

The only way to make it better is to expand the playoffs to 4? No wait, 8? 12? Sooner or later we'll get 'em.

Someone mentioned it on ESPN, but DIII has a 32 team first round that only saw 4 different champs over the last 15 playoffs, and 8 different champs since 1992.

It really is, which fed into the whole "if not now, then when" narrative all season (and preseason as most saw this coming) for UGA."

Certainly the weakest CFP in the era.

I’d been saying that this UGA team wouldn’t even be within two scores of the last 3 champions. Definitely feel vindicated seeing how they lost by the same score to Alabama in the 2021 SECCG as last year’s regular season game but this Alabama squad is vastly inferior.

That cemented my opinion that there probably isn’t a team in America this year that could beat any of the CFP era champions.

Hurts and Fields weren't studs.

Chase young never was serious contender.

This is revisionist history at its finest. If we're going by votes attained, then 2019 is the weakest class in the history of the trophy considering how 90% of the possible votes went to Burrow. All four of the finalists from this year's class will likely go in the first round of the NFL Draft. Hutchinson and Young are both projected to be #1 picks in 2022 and 2023 respectively while Kenny Pickett is projected as a high first round selection. Stroud is only a freshman but he's off to a great start to his career. What exact metrics are you basing your opinion on other than homerism?

Just my opinion, but 2019 was one of the stronger years top to bottom in college football in awhile. There were about a half dozen teams in that season that would’ve probably won a national title in an “average” season. Certainly would’ve won a title in this season.

You’re right. It means so much less now. Has Bryce given back the award yet?

Your entire fanbase would trade that McCauley Culkin looking motherfricker's Heisman, and that whole season in exchange for Cincinnati beating Alabama. This is why you suck.

He needs to! Everyone knows Aidan was the DESERVING Heisman winner...

qoute:
The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity.

Aiden is an honor student, he's clean cut, he's the team's leader, and he carried the entire Big10 Conference on his back, single-handedly!

Furthermore, he didn't CHOKE against Texas 8&4, he didn't struggle to beat the terrible Pigs, the LSU Kitty Cats, Sun Belt Conference Florida Crocodiles, and he certainly didn't struggle to beat a lowly Auburn War Chickens team in 4OT's without their star QB, now did he?

Man, I hope Bama beats the MeerCats, because Aiden will put your token Heisman winner Bryce Young on his overrated a$$, over and over and over...

Yeah, sure. Just like every other dynasty in the history of college football killed the sport.

When OU was winning in the 50's, they killed the sport. When Nebraska was rolling in the 90's, they killed the sport. When Notre Dame or Minnesota was winning just about every nattie way back, college football was declared dead. Same with Miami and USC.

Hell, Bear Bryant killed college football in the early 60's and the 70's, during his dynasty runs. Everyone knows that he owned LSU and Tiger Stadium back then. (I think Bryant was 9-1 in Tiger Stadium; Saban is 6-1)

College football has had dynasties every since it started, and everyone was chasing the winner. That's what makes the sport so fun. Competing and improving to beat the team that is leading the way.

But, I guess it's just different when Bama/Coach Saban is in the driver's seat. Yeah, Bama killed the sport.

No different than any other year. How valid is an award where the list of "contestants" is served up by the media before the season even begins? Hell, they're already grooming the "contestants" for the 2022 Heisman farce and the 2021 season isn't finished yet. Much like the Nobel Peace Prize, it's a popularity contest, and that is all.

The team killing the sport certainly seems to always have some amazing TV ratings when their games are on ;)

I assume you switched off the Iron Bowl with 1:27 on the clock and Bama down 7 on their 3 yard line with a hodge podge OL, no WR1, an RB4, and no timeouts. Then, a series of great plays in OT.

Thank you for making my point about the weak class. It took an OT win against a 6-6 Auburn team that has lost to Penn st, Moo St, uSCe, and barely beat one of the worst LSU teams in history to have a “heisman moment”.

Agree 1000% with TigerFan...Young was up and down all year. Not even the best QB in his conference...
