It's not about "making" the CFP. Making the CFP is not difficult (especially in the big 10). Hell Boise state made the CFP last year. All you can seem to focus on is LSU and how you want them to suck so bad. LSU currently sits inside the top 10 vegas odds to win the Natty (would be higher odds if they were in the Big 10). All of the other sec teams i've listed sit in the top 20. Washington and USC have lower odds than south carolina, OU, Auburn, Texas A&M, Florida, & ole miss to win it all. Not sure what you aren't understanding. I'm sorry Nebraska isn't the quality win you think it is.
As for LSU, I expect them to be a strong contender this year. We have a returning QB and have spent a lot of money in the portal. I feel BK hasn't lived up to the hype yet, but this will be a very telling year. It really would not be that surprising for LSU to win it all. It would be very surprising for Washington or USC to win it all.

I'm glad someone here understands. They really want to equate beating Auburn and Florida to beating Nebraska and Minnesota.

I'm talking about currently competitive programs that are capable of winning a natty. Arkansas is nowhere close to that.

I agree about this season.

Big 12: Im sure they play decent football, but none of those teams could come close to winning a natty.
But TCU did so well against UGA!

I think you add USC, Arkansas, and Missouri to the SEC
Washington, Wisconsin USC and UCLA to the Big10
Miami, Va Tech, North Carolina and possibly, depending on the year, Georgia Tech
I don't have a clue who is still in the Big12 and don't have the energy to look. I am not saying these programs WILL win a natty ever or ever again but they do have the resources, for the most part, and are likely to make the commitment it takes to compete. That's 27 teams and possibly 28 IF GT ever decides they want to be competitive - they have the resources to be. There are maybe 30 teams total that are playing the same game as the top teams on this list and you might could stretch it to 40 but that is a long stretch....

Oregon and ATM are not the same. Oregon has actually made legitimate recent opportunities cities to play for a natty. ATM has not. Not to say atm doesn’t have the possibility but they are not in the same league as Oregon

Honestly, Auburn and Ohio State have played for the same amount of titles in the last 20 years.
What? Ohio State has played for 5 national titles in the past 20 years and has another just outside that window.
Please correct me with the 5 titles Auburn has played for in that time period. National title games, not almost.

Aky has the potential, but they havent been a threat for decades. theyve also piled on some winless conference seasons in that time. USC and Mizzou, just no. I think they are both capable of making the 12 team playoff this year. But they have no chance of winning it all and havent had a chance of winning it all in any recent history.
The west coast teams just dont have the local personnel to compete. Seems like the california teams have just thrown in the towel. They dont even put fans in the seats.
Miami is too small and private to keep up.
North Carolina is like a&m without the emphasis on football.
Va tech, not seeing anything impressive from them for quite some time.
Ga tech... no

I already acknowledged that I forgot about all the times ohio state got blown out by SEC teams in the champ game.

This is just plain stupidity. Lol
There is a “Big 6” for a reason. Over 50 years of college football played and only 6 teams from the SEC have won the SEC championship. These same 6 are the only teams who have won a national championship.
Now that Texas and OU have joined you can add them to the Big 6 as teams that are capable of winning a national championship in football, but that’s it. The list of teams capable of winning a title ends at 8 teams.
But.. getting back to Arkansas and Missouri. What type of crack are you smoking? Lol

We're a basketball school now until everyone from the top down is gone.

The only thing Arkansas is capable of is making a trip to the Liberty Bowl this December.

USC, Arkansas, North Carolina, Georgia Tech and UCLA have no chance besides just making a bowl each season and get the belt to arse by the usual teams.
Wisconsin just doesn't have enough talent to win a title, they peaked years ago.
Southern Cal can but fan support is weak.
Miami can but they have too many problems that keep them being a consistent winner at a higher level.
Virginia Tech has the potential to get back to Frank Beamer type seasons but not likely now.
