Ourand_SBJ - Source: I'm told last night's game pulled a 10.6 in fast nationals across TBS, TNT, truTV - down 34% and the lowest ever for an NCAA Final.

@MattScalici - College football championship, also on cable, drew a 15.0 rating.

They put the game on frickin TBS. Of course the ratings would be down.

Why would CBS not want to carry the game?

Nobody gives a frick about ratings unless you're a big wig corporate douche.

Both games were fricking amazing and both went down to arguably the last play.

You do realize turner is paying a boatload to partner with CBS? Turner would have to get a championship game at some point to be worth it.

There's a reason for this.

Wife asked why I was not watching it, told her it was on cable only.

I cut the cord with cable, so oh well. Cable TV is a dying business.

SlingTv is the best thing that ever happened to me. I get all the ESPN channels, SECN, all turner broadcasting stations, history channel, CNN, etc. For $25 a month. When I found out about it I dropped my cable provider so fast. I just don't watch enough TV to pay $175 a month. Cable companies needed something like that to put their arse back in check. Pisses me off even more how they try to wheel and deal you.

wait, what is this wizardry? my fiance and i keep going back and forth on canceling our cable but we do watch some live tv but only on a handful of channels. i'm not willing to give up the sportsd package, and she's not willing to give up local channels, the E network, and ABC family. are you telling me there's a way to do this for $25 a month instead of $125?

CBS is being pretty conservative about its sports spending. What it pays for the SEC games are so below market value its crazy.

I think CBS is smart though, eventually the ESPN bubble on sports rights will pop and overnight the values will fall by half.

It's not a bad deal for what it is. You get about 20 channels for that price. If it doesn't have the ones you watch, you can add other packages for more. Also, it's the only way to get ESPN without a pay TV subscription.

A few negatives. Local network channels aren't integrated into the package, and you can't record shows, although you can pause live ones.
