Your game ended when your coach opted to go deep on 3rd and long prior to the end of regulation, rather than positioning closer for a field goal to win the game.

I mean i havent went back and looked at those 2 plays from many angles. I cant imagine it was a full blown hail mary and every reciever was just streaking straight down the field on both plays. The quarterback has final say on who he throws the ball to and his guy was open on both and held badly on one. Pass interference had been called early and often on iffy plays against us ALL game. Maybe they thought they would get one against them and a 15 yard penalty. Run it to the center of the field and call a time out and give it a kick for the win. All i know is this is going to be the 2nd game in which we got hosed in the music city bowl that will ultimately result in a rule change to make sure it never happens again. Hell 2 rule changes might happen. Everyone got to have a good look at the fake injuries on 3rd down every drive in the 2nd half.

I hate Tennessee but they got fricked.
The play is over when the whistle blows which happened after the RB broke the plane with the extension.
It also rewrites what could have been a great story of extra effort vs the Bowls don’t count crowd.
Pretty fricked up.

I don't care either way, but just came here to add that pushing your own player forward is NOT a penalty anymore. The NCAA removed that penalty from the rulebook in 2013. Prior to 2013 it was illegal to assist the ball carrier forward "in any way." Now it's perfectly legal which is why you see offensive players pushing and scrumming so much now.
I don't have the rulebook in front of me, but I think it is still illegal to pick up the ball carrier or something crazy like that. But pushing him forward in a scrum is perfectly legal.

Your period key appears to be stuck.

If I was a UT fan I would be embarrassed to bitch about that call. It's embarrassing enough to even be in the position of needing ref help in the first place.

1. I am not implying that the call was either correct or incorrect.
2. I am stating what the rule book says.
3. Your statement about the "scrum" implies that the runner is still moving forward and, therefore, has no significance in the discussion.
4. I do not represent the "yall"(sic) that you mention.

So LOLT gets the TD and Purdue scores on their drive going to second OT and UT loses in that. Bottom line, the play didn’t decide the game, quit crying!

While the whistle can cause the ball to become dead, by rule, the ball is dead when the runner's forward motion is stopped. The whistle then signals that the ball is dead.
Exactly. You can't give a player multiple chances/time to regroup and move forward. The RB's forward progress was stopped and he then lunged the ball forward. The refs on the field got it right and it was confirmed by the replay officials. Sux that Huepel didn't have enough confidence in his team to take the three, but it is what it is.

Don’t know about collegiate rule book, but high school rule book says play is not dead until whistle is blown. I suspect collegiate is the same. Yes, forward progress likely was dead BUT ref screwed up on whistle.

When UT and UA played with Lane as UT's coach. Remember that field goal that fat, dog killing piece of shite, Cody, blocked? Do you know why Lane tried a field goal from that far? Because the refs screwed his team so many times. He said after the game, "not giving them another chance."
LOL
You guys have become caricatures of yourselves.

The only thing screwed is what JH did to UTs defense.

"LOL....duh huh..."
That was what Lane said after the game, you fricking moron. You have a problem with it? Take it up with Lane.
Oh wait...2009. You were an Auburn or ACC fan then. That was before you caught a ride on the band wagon. My bad.
