The play ended "in the ref's mind". My bad. I thought the play ended when the whistle blew.

Call was correct. Tennessee player grabbed the shoulder pads and dragged the ball carrier forward.

Tennessee did get screwed.
By their coach and his play calling. Get 5-10 more yards and the FG at the end of registration is good. Instead Heupel got greedy and got burned.

I am no Tennessee fan, I hate refs that screw up the game of football....
The refs and replay guys should be banned from football,...
He was not down , he reached the ball across the goal line , then the whistle blew......
Don’t bring up some team mate trying to help get him across the line, that has never been the end of play. I have seen hundreds of scrums continue TILL THE WHISTLE BLOWS..... IF YOU CLAIM THAT TEAMATE HWLPING HIM IS THE END YOU HAVE WATCHED ZERO FOOTBALL THIS YEAR...L.L

Pulling is rarely called. I think it’s been a decade since it was called in college football.
But if the refs didn’t screw up the forward progress call, but did call pulling, then UT still would’ve been able to kick a fg

I don't know if you'd call it greedy.
Unless he was trying to cover a 5 point spread for a bet or something.

He also went for 4th and 1 in red zone instead of going up 4 earlier. Coach killed their chances. Players deserve better.

While the whistle can cause the ball to become dead, by rule, the ball is dead when the runner's forward motion is stopped. The whistle then signals that the ball is dead.

He didn't get greedy. Purdue covered the short and intermediate stuff. We just missed on the first one and the second one a blatant PI was missed

First off that hasnt been the case all year. When they started all the pussification of football, one thing they eased back on is letting these stood up ball carriers be the center of a rugby scrum. You know good and well if that happned to yall, especially against Alabama, your fanbase would be rioting in the damn streets.
