With all that talent DeBoer shouldn't lose a game. No excuses. I can't wait for the melt.
He’s got one shot which is this year when he actually has talent. However, his QB has peaked and it’s not a very high peak at that. Only so much you can do. If Saban couldn’t field a great team with him, DeBoer sure as hell can’t, Koy Moore and Jordan Travis aren’t going to be around to bail him out multiple times. He’s an inexperienced HC and coming from the PAC 12. He’ll lose recruits for 2025 and it will only get worse.
It’s going to be ugly.

I can't wait to see what he'll do when he has to play a schedule with UGA and other SEC powers on it and not the Our Lady of Grace all-Catholic girl's School for the Blind.
Coach Kalen DeBoer the last 2 years:
Coach DeBoer 3, Dan Lanning 0
Coach DeBoer 2, Lincoln Riley 0
Coach DeBoer 2, Steve Sarkisian 0
Coach DeBoer 1, Kyle Whittingham 0
Just a few schools of the blind Coach DeBoer has bested the last 2 years, with a lot less talent.

We might just give him the Brian Kelly treatment. That's where you have a 70% blue-chip ratio but are still incapable of putting a defense with a pulse on the field. Still, that seems like a lot of money for coaching one-half of the LOS.

If only he had more talent to work with than he did at Washington.

His point was playing an SEC schedule not some soft west coast one.

Ok, but it makes sense for OK. Our Blue Chip rate is up because all the Riley players left. So you have to understand the situation before saying OU got worse because of the high transfers. Blue chippers replaced them thus the higher ranking in original post
The later posts includes all the transfers.
Don't fret about Texas. Kyle Flood is getting the large human, OL he wants, regardless of ratings. He is able to go 4 deep in spring football, knowing a lot of guys have time for S&C and development.
The skill guys are top drawer, as you know.

More talent, but stiffer competition. Its a wash. And the million dollar point that you and the rest of the Bama faithful haven't accepted yet; He's not Saban....not now, never will be. Saban lost 2 games a season for the last 3 years. So, I'd say that puts KD at about 3 losses a season for the first 3 years of his tenure. If he makes it to year 3, that is....knowing the Bama fanbase, after he first loses 3, they'll find him floating face down in Lake Weiss somewhere.

First year with a new staff? 9-3 is reasonably good imo.
Your coach lost 4 the first year at LSU

Now do the list for who is actually on roster.

Big difference in taking over a playoff team and a team that was .500 for two years running.
And you swear DeBoer is a superior coach to BK, 9-3 would be a massive underachievement.

"reasonably good"....
To you maybe. But I know waaaaaaay to many Bama fans, and I can tell ya right now, if you think 3 losses is gonna sit well with the Bama faithful, you don't know your own fanbase. When KS only won 7 games his first year, the outrage of; we had got the wrong coach for the job, etc. was deafening. Just imagine if KD only wins 7 or even 8 games following the great King Saban what kind of seismic shockwave that's gonna create?
I'll get stoned by the Bama folks for saying this, but Saban's success has drained any sense of 'reasonable' from among the Crimson fanbase. Poor ol KD is gonna find this out very soon. He better hope its after a 10-2 season and not a 7-6, or he's gonna realize he's taken a job in Dante's Nine Circles of Hell.

That coach averages 4 losses a year over his career, so that’s different.

DeBoer is being snobbed because he's following a legend. Venables, on the other hand, is being overlooked because he's never been associated with an SEC team.
And, no, I didn't mean "snubbed."
