Bowl games stopping meaning anything once the 4 team playoff started.

The advertisers will determine when the bowl games are truly not meaningful since tickets sales already show they mean nothing.

Appreantly you don't understand the rivalry then.

I think a lot of these kids don't understand the rivalry either, as a majority of kids are now national and not regional.

I do wonder if they end up moving these rivalry games earlier into the year.

The real issue to me is years where Auburn/Bama or OSU/Michigan are both top 5ish teams and the loser doesn't feel the pain as much because their regular season is over but they will still be in the playoffs.

You just want to keep they Alabama monopoly that is killing the rest of CFB

The expanded playoff will make it easier for Alabama to win championships. It will all but guarantee Alabama in the playoffs. Every time these weak minded people make decisions in an attempt to make football "fair", they only make it easier on the top programs to win. Your comment doesn't make sense.

Yep. Alabama will be in the playoff yearly. This helps Texas A&M, Georgia, Florida and LSU getting in

But then Bama has to deal with a presumably top-ten SEC East Champion who is also fighting for a bye and/or home playoff game.

That's assuming conference championship games remain a thing.

How long until the argument of #13 (LSU) was definitely better than #12 (Cincy)!!! starts?

This is a monkey's paw scenario waiting to happen. "We wish to make things easier on the Pac-12 and ACC, where football is a glorified club sport at some schools." Granted. Oregon gets into the playoff now, along with Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M, and Auburn.

If LSU is 13, they don't belong anywhere near a playoff imo. not good enough

From a similar article a few weeks ago
quote:

"There will not be a new format this season or next season," Hancock said. "The timetable is certainly an important detail, but it hasn't been determined yet. It's too soon to predict the timing, but even if the board decides to alter the format, it may well not occur until after the current agreement has expired, which isn't until after the 2025 season."

Under this format since 2010 the last decade Auburn would've made it in

2010
2013
2017
2019

Way more than Texas A&M and lol at a Tennessee fan trying to clown Auburn

Alternate them with LSU if you want, the point is the same. The SEC frequently has 3-4 teams in the 5-15 range and is likely to take up half of the at-large bids.

If they’re gonna do this just do away with bowl games and go to a 24 team playoff with all P5 conference champs getting an auto bid and the rest at large. Top 8 seeds get a bye.
