I think they're looking at two weeks after Championship Saturday. Assuming they're able to start this in 2023 (the absolute earliest they could do it), the first round will be played on December 16. That would mean the Quarterfinals will be played on Monday, January 1, 2024.
So Semi finals would be mid week games more than likely because they arent going to both play on Monday night. Id imagine they are going to give them more than a week between games

Who knows at this point. We're still a long way off from this coming to fruition - though it does appear inevitable at this point. Truthfully, I'm hoping for the national championship game to fall on the Saturday before the Super Bowl. That would be a helluva weekend for fans of football. You'd spend Saturday night watching the FBS National Championship Game and then spend the very next evening watching the Super Bowl.

You just want to keep they Alabama monopoly that is killing the rest of CFB
Right. Because Bama having a shot at one of 12 slots is really going to change things.
Whiny bitches. When LSU was better, they got in, and won. Georgia got in.
You could just get better, but no, let's water down the field further.

I'd anticipate rivalry week being moved into October or something of that nature

I don't want that - super bowl coverage would suffocate cfb coverage

They said that they wanted to take back new years day.
SO my guess .. using this year..
December 4th Conf Championships
December 11th Army-Navy & Heisman Award
December 18th First Round
Dec 31st Qtr Final - Peach Bowl 4pm est & Fiesta Bowl 8pm est
Jan 1st Qtr Final - Rose Bowl - 5pm est & Sugar Bowl 9pm est
Jan 8th Semi Final - Cotton Bowl - 3pm est & Orange Bowl 8pm est
Jan 16th (monday night) CPF TITLE GAME - INDIANAPOLIS 8PM EST
** If you give 2 week between qts & semis , it puts it on wild card weekend the 15th ... but if you did that you could conceivably put the Title game on Jan 29th Saturday the night before the AFC/ NFC title games; which would be cool and give you 2 weeks between each rounds ... that would address some of the player safety with extra rest.... just don't know how you could schedule against wild card weekend... you could put them on the friday night of the 14th & saturday the 15th ... that might work ...
but if you could starting every 2 weeks from conf chanp ship games have 2 weeks, teams should be pretty rested... or rusty?
