"Ohio fires coach Brian Smith over 'serious' misconduct". I saw he was suspended a few weeks ago, now it's permanent...

What is it with these college coaches that makes them risk their careers, families, and sizable paychecks? I know Ohio is not a super high paying job - but several million over 5 years is nothing to sneeze at.

Is it stress? Competitive nature? Ego?

If you are winning, it's not a big deal.

If you are losing, it's a way to fire with cause.

With all that money...why not buy cocaine and hookers? What is the point of being rich if you are not buying hookers daily?

Bureau of Justice says there is about 1/10 chance men spend some time in state or fed prison. Seems like whatever these guys are up to is a few steps below prison worthy but people in general behave badly. Guys more so.

Think about the majority (not all) of 30-40 year old dipshits that were your coaches in high school. Now pay some of those dipshits a few million dollars a year.....

Rumor is he was banging a nursing student which, if she wasn't directly in his employ, I don't really see the issue. Hell, she could have been a 40 year old night school student.

But OTHER rumors speak of interludes in the athletic offices and tagging along on university paid getaways. And if she was INSTEAD a 22 yr old nursing student, I can see where that could get a man fired.

Fact is women do just as bad shite if not worse, but there is a 50% chance less they go to lockup due to being a woman.

I grew up in hot springs, Arkansas and all our coaches were in love with the horse races. Seems like most all coaches love to gamble…
