Anyway, of course LSU gets good TV ratings when they play Alabama. Everyone does when they play Alabama.
People tune in to watch Alabama, not the team they're playing.
Alabama is the SEC's only national brand. Alabama is the only consistent ratings juggernaut in the SEC.

Think about this. A terrible LSU team with mostly backups and 3 rd stringers had a 2nd ranked Alabama on the ropes until the final seconds.

Coach O is real salty about Bama and Saban. He gets real emotional about the topic and always stares at him in disdain in pre and post games.

Now that he's fired this year is basically O not giving 2 shits what he says, because what are they gonna do fire him again? 
He's always been a shite talking meat head so now he's just getting as much shite talking and hypermasculine posturing done as he can. Part of me is kinda proud of him, at least he's true to himself. Probably a little easier to stomach it all knowing he doesn't have much longer
