Why would the NFL spend money on something they don't need? You're missing a lot of economic concepts here my man.

Holy frick, did you not read the 2nd part of that sentence?

Yes and you are getting pissy for no reason. Look at the AFFL or whatever it was just ended. It's done. The NFL isn't going to create a d league because there is no benefit to them. Chill out.

We hunt in moundville, I spend about 4 weeks a year there and we go to Tuscaloosa (closest town) for entertainment while we’re there.

Alabama just paid Avery Johnson $4 million to go away, but we wouldn't be able to pay Clemson $6 million (max) for their coach if Alabama and Dabo wanted that to happen?

No one cares about players in their mid 20s that can't make the NFL. It would be much more profitable to sell a league of up and comers.

And it’s a college town. What do you expect? But there’s still 250,000 people in the metro. It’s not like it’s pullman, Washington or something. To hear some of you talk...

Lol then raise the money and make the money. You are missing a lot of my points here.

LSU has won despite its coaches.
Take saban away, and Alabama will soon go the way of Nebraska.

Gotta love the battered child syndrome that controls the lives of so many LSU fans on this site.

Yes that Wade guy is a pretty good coach but when he leaves you will see Alabama just wins because of their good coach.

Yes, I know we have not beaten Alabama in 35 years but now the Wade and Thomas are gone, Alabama is toast. They only win because of those two once in a lifetime kind of coaches.

Yes, I know we have only won two games in the last 22 years but Alabama only wins like this because of the once in a lifetime coaches they keep getting. Bryant was the greatest coach in history, They will be toast when he is gone.

Yes, I know we only won 1 game in the past 8 years but that Stallings guy was a hard arse throw back kind of guy. Those guys don't exist anymore. With Stallings gone Alabama is toast. They only win when they find another once-in-a-lifetime coach. There aren't any more of them out there...well except Saban and he is ours.

We (LSU) win in spite of our coach. Actually, we make the coach rather than like those people in Tuscaloosa where the coach makes them. Saban is the greatest coach ever. We made him what he is. See we even win with Les is more.

Yes, I know we have only won 2 games in the last 11 years but We made Saban. Alabama only wins because of the once-in-a-lifetime coaches they keep getting. I know, Saban has won more and at a much greater pace with Alabama than he did at LSU, but Saban will be gone soon and Alabama will be toast. Well, at least until they land a 6th once-in-a-lifetime coach.

Dabo Swinney. I thought it was crazy, but Clemson is acting like it's not so crazy.

BREAKING: Dabo Swinney’s new deal at #Clemson is MASSIVE. It will be for 10 years and $93 million, per source ... He has led the Tigers to two of the past three national titles.

#SOYBEANWIND

(Just a friendly reminder on where he stood on players getting any kind of compensation)

That's true, but from what I've read, it's only for the first two years. ESPN said $6M for Alabama and $4M for any other school, but for the first two years only...not sure what it is after that. But like SoG said, if (and it's a big if) Dabo wants to come to Bama, I don't think we'd blink at paying the buyout...

Clemson's only safeguard preventing Dabo from eventually going to Bama is to name the university after him. Dabo U., Clemdab, Dabson...something to that effect.

Ok I'm done. No more drinking at the office.

This "Dabo to Bama" speak is going on it's 3rd or 4th year and all Dabo has done is win at the highest level at a place where he can do no wrong. He's been associated with Clemson a helluva a lot longer than he has at Bama.

Dabo's next gig will either on TV on Saturday's and in the Pulpit on Sunday's preaching the word.

Alabama is is school with a great history and tradition that he can only build upon from great coaches of the past....Clemson is his Masterpiece that he built literally from scratch. How do you walk away from that? A few more dollars isn't going to be enough.

$4MM paid to a middling basketball coach to NOT coach at Bama, was well worth it.

IF Bama chooses to go after home boy Dabo in a few years, $6MM will be chump change.

It's wild how his buyout increases by 44.16 percent if he were to leave for Alabama

He didn’t just play at Alabama. He grew up in Alabama. It’s not some baseless argument. I mean, the damn buyout literally says it’s not.

That all being said, there’s no telling what happens 10 years from now.
