I agree, and that includes his Horns. Although I do enjoy his show with Mike Florio. Best quote from this interview: The Big 12 is flag football or 7-on-7 football."

What’s the back story on why he hasn’t been back to tu or likes them? It seems tu fans and Simms genuinely have bad blood.

I agree for the most part but Texas damn sure wasn't playing flag football with us last year.

Within 2 years, the Big 12 will be nothing more than a reimagined 2005 C-USA

Eh, disagree.

The Big 12 has some of the most parity of any conference, you never know what the frick is going to happen.

The "7 on 7" argument is overrated and outdated. The Big 12 plays more defense now than they did 10 years ago and other conferences score more.

Not a huge difference these days.

I agree with you and actually enjoy the parity in the Big XII.

2022 - Kansas State is conference champions, but TCU makes the CFP finals
2021 - Baylor is conference champions, but Okie State misses the playoff by about a half yard
2020 - Iowa State is conference champions, but Oklahoma finishes the season strong and in the top 5

Look at all the different names in there.

Simms was an odd duck at Texas, coming down from New Jersey. He is still bitter (his words) about how the fans favored Major Applewhite. He is on record saying he was never accepted by the fanbase. Someone keyed the word Yankee into his car after a loss to OU.

He also may still be a whiny kid all these years later. He had a victim mentality all those years ago and was really prickly , keeping a list of folks that he thought were after him.

such a bad take.... Big 12 has had the best 2 seasons of defense in college football last season Big 12 led all conferences defense and went 6-0 in bowl games. THis year TCU went to national champ game and beat Mich...tell me another conference outside of the sec whos better zero.

and his take was in reference to him thinking his era of football was such a bad arse era and defenses were so much better.... some truth to that minus the fact the offenses are so much better also!

Didn't Kansas lose to Arkansas in the Bowl game?

I think there is some truth to both. Everytime he made a mistake the fans wanted major...truth is the kid played with a lot of heart. I remember him dislocating a finger at nebraska and went back in after having a coach pop it back in the joint.
He just wasn't a great QB. Good but never great. Choked big time against ou

...and he is right about big12 fb.

This is the take of someone who hasn’t watched college football closely in a decade.

The Big 12 today is marginally different than the other conferences from an offense/defense skew.

I’m not here to defend the Big 12, but NFL guys have always have terrible takes on college football.

Big 12 had the most parity last year and didn’t have any “bad” teams. Can’t say the same for the SEC.

Also, I was at the UT - bama game. Bama is really fricking lucky they won that one.

That 2001 CU Big 12 title game didn't help either. Simms was 9-17 with three picks through the 2nd quarter and the Texas crowd is booing him as Texas is down 29-10.

Applewhite comes in, immediately tosses a 79 yard TD, and almost engineers the comeback.

Too bad Applewhite grew man boobs and cheated on his wife with a team trainer. I think he is qb coach at South Alabama currently.

Didn't y'all finish with something like 7 losses this year, including one to Liberty?

An overreaction to watching Kansas St and TCU get blown out of the water.

Big 12 boy needs to take some of the knee-jerks out of his thinking.
