Evidently, Pelini never watched tape of rush 3, drop 8, keep it in front of you, and rally to the football.

He blitzed middle and The Pirate made them pay over and over.

He didn't even watch tape from the first half of our game. At some point you need to stop those crossing routes, but nooooo.

Don't think LSU has 8 guys that can cover people.

Or maybe cover the RB. Leach always throws to them a ton

I've made that point many times. Washington dominated Leach. His offenses were mush against Washington.

That’s how you can do it if you can cover 8.

It might work, but msu is not wsu.

You see, the talent at wsu is way lower than that of MSU.

I saw 8 capable wrs/rbs. Not 2 or 3.

I also know that while Leach took what LSU gave them resulted in 60 plus passes, that doesn't mean he changes that fact. Fact of giving what the defense is giving when he has other tools.

He did that repeatedly at tech.

Hill will eat that lunch for you.

Exactly. Someone is going to try to drop eight and forget we have a first team all SEC running back.

I mean, a lot of people have stopped it.

Leach lost 7 games last year

Truly terrible performance from LSU.

Washington didn't just win they totally stopped his offense. Leach lost games but usually scored a lot of points.

Here's the difference.

Mississippi State has the 23rd most talented roster. LSU has the 7th, so +16 position and 137 point for advantage LSU. Tough, but not insurmountable.

Washington State has the 74th most talented roster, while Washington is 19th, a 55 position and 300 point difference. WSU was basically an above average mid major against a good P5 team. Huge difference.

The situations are comparatively nothing alike.

Your 3 better get pressure and be able to stop the run or Leach will find open guys and run counter till you die

That’s ANY AR team tho

Utah held them to 13.
20 against Cal
21 against Air Force
12 against Washington

Others will throw out their ideas but here is what I think happened.

Are you facing a specialty offense? By which I mean Air Raid/Run and Shoot or Triple Option. You are? Then what works for every other team on your schedule probably won't work against that team, especially if they run that system well.

Cincinnati, as an example, faced a red hot Army option attack. They went all in on stopping the FB dive. It worked. It wasn't the prettiest win we will see this year but they pulled out a 24-10 win because they went in knowing what they had to do and then did it.

LSU did not adjust to what Moo State was doing. The same plays that worked in the second quarter were working in the fourth quarter with the game on the line. They were facing a specialty offense and they looked like they went into the game treating them like any other offense on the schedule.
