Isn't that the rule that was implemented after the Cam Saga? The loop hole they tried to close? If so you can't implement that retroactively, right?
No that has always been the rule.

What do you think they should do to teams having played a player who should have been inelligible from that rule?
Posted on 4/22/13 at 11:50 pm to BIG DADDY 73
So what's the new "Cam" rule they implemented then?

The parent and solicitation were added recently. But the rule you are referring to involves all benefits, which means bama played a few players recently, who were confirmed to have received benefits, therefore inelligible per the rule(btw, they rarely have ever enforced this rule for all teams) so therefor bama while on probation committed a major violation by playing inelligible players.

Could someone please take the time to post:
1) How many Alabama fans posted in this thread versus Auburn fans
2) How many posts were done by Alabama fans versus Auburn fans
I gave up at page 6. But to sum, AU has circled the wagons, out of self preservation and a sense of being besieged. UA has brought their formidable knowledge and experience of sanctions, violations and such to bear. Due to both sides being at constant war, each is holding the line.
24/7/365 is not a good thing. Perhaps some asides....maybe origami?

Outside of Vanderbilt, Florida, and maybe Texas A&M, there isn't a whole Hell of a lot of difference between each SEC school. The only difference comes in evaluating the individual colleges and departments.
Well stated.
But I think you just hurt the UGA fan's feelings.

Blazer, all I know is that Miss. St. offered his daddy money and that made him ineligible at any school. scam not knowing doesn't matter. Check the rules, any parent or guardian soliciting money = ineligible. It doesn't say unless the student athlete didn't know.
Well since my Bama buddies told me Auburn
1) Gave Rueben a tatoo, his mother a job, grades in school, and moved him to Auburn.
2) That Trooper is dirty and was the primary recruiter for Yeldon and offered him money.
3) That Cyrus (big lineman) was treated to cash and hookers on his visit to Auburn.
4) Fill in the blank for every recruit that ended up at Bama that Auburn recruited.
Then, since all this happened according to many on this board and many many many bama fans, then I can only logically conclude that Bama is dirty since they all ended up there. I can only conclude that since Auburn was willing to pay them that Alabama MUST have paid them. I can then conclude that Bama is very dirty.
Am I doing this right? Is this the logic we are supposed to use?

It appears to me that Auburn's Jay Jacobs did far more research in his internal review than the former NYT & SI reporter did for her story
